As a Materials Specialist, you will primarily work in a metallurgical laboratory and mechanical testing facility. As well as this, you will undertake desk-based assessments of equipment. You will use the findings from these works to solve client problems and guide them towards better equipment management.

Inventory Optimization & Strategy
⢠Lead initiatives to optimize inventory levels while maintaining high service levels across regionsĀ
⢠Analyze inventory trends (DSOH, turns, aging) and develop actionable plans to improve performanceĀ
⢠Drive reduction of slow-moving and excess inventory through structured programsĀ
⢠Monitor levels of safety stock, global and aging inventory, and works with regions and manufacturing plants to address accordingly
⢠Provide updates to inventory projections and creates mitigation plans as needed
⢠Work with Supply Planners to implement stocking strategies for local providers
⢠Work with Regions to phase in new product inventory and develop plans for effectively managing replaced inventoryCross-Functional Collaboration
⢠Partner with Supply Planners, Demand Planners, and Regional Operations teams to align inventory strategies with business needsĀ
⢠Act as a key liaison between global and regional stakeholders to ensure consistent executionĀ
⢠Support S&OP / IBP processes with inventory insights and recommendationsĀ
⢠Slow-Moving & Excess Inventory Management
⢠Identify slow-moving, obsolete, and excess inventory and implement disposition strategiesĀ
⢠Lead inventory rebalancing efforts across regions to maximize utilizationĀ
⢠Develop and track KPIs related to aging inventory and excess reductionĀ
Utilization & Material Efficiency

⢠Drive initiatives to improve inventory utilization across business unitsĀ
⢠Recommend redeployment, repair, or repurposing strategies to enhance valueĀ
⢠Monitor and improve stocking policies based on demand variability and lead times Data Analytics & Reporting
⢠Develop dashboards and reports to track inventory health and performanceĀ
⢠Provide insights and recommendations to leadershipĀ
⢠Leverage ERP and planning systems for data-driven decision making Continuous Improvement

⢠Support digital transformation initiatives and automation of inventory processesĀ

To be successful in this role, you will have:
⢠Bachelorās degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related fieldĀ
⢠Minimum 5 years of experience in inventory management, supply planning, or supply chain operationsĀ
⢠Proven experience working with global/regional teams and cross-functional stakeholders
⢠Strong background in managing slow-moving, excess, and obsolete inventoryĀ
⢠Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and advanced Excel / analytics toolsĀ
⢠Certifications such as APICS CSCP or CPIM are a plusĀ
