Job Purpose
At Emirates, we believe in connecting the world, to and through, our global hub in Dubai; and in constantly innovating to ensure our customers Fly Better.
Emirates Group IT thrives on the dynamic nature of technology. Being pioneers in aviation innovation, we’re always at the forefront, pushing boundaries. We are seeking a Lead Performance Engineer to ensure the performance, scalability, and reliability of a large‑scale Cloud ERP transformation, supporting business‑critical finance, supply chain, procurement, and operational platforms.
This is a 36-month fixed-term contract based in Dubai, with 5 days per week in the office.
As Lead Performance Engineer – Cloud ERP, you will be responsible for defining and embedding performance engineering practices across Agile Release Trains, ensuring Cloud ERP solutions meet demanding non‑functional requirements under real‑world enterprise workloads.
In this role, you will:
• Work closely with project members, architects, and software engineers to understand the Cloud ERP landscape, including integrations and transaction‑heavy business processes, in order to translate complex non‑functional requirements into effective performance test strategies.
• Partner with Product Owners to provide early feedback on performance, scalability, and resilience risks related to ERP solution design, integrations, and release scope.
• Collaborate with the Quality Engineering Chapter to ensure non‑production ERP environments, representative data volumes, and integrations are available to support performance, load, stress, and endurance testing.
• Liaise with other Agile Release Train teams to coordinate end‑to‑end performance testing across cross‑system and cross‑module ERP dependencies.
• Ensure performance testing tools are configured correctly to support accurate collection of throughput, latency, capacity, and stability metrics for programme and enterprise‑level dashboards.
• Support and guide software engineers in embedding performance testing and monitoring within CI/CD pipelines, promoting shift‑left performance practices.
• Design, implement, and maintain performance testing frameworks and test harnesses to validate ERP behaviour under peak loads, business cycles, and failure scenarios.
• Define, implement, and enforce performance‑related Quality Gates, ensuring ERP solutions meet agreed non‑functional acceptance criteria prior to release.
Qualification
To be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:
• Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in performance engineering or quality engineering roles within Information Technology environments.
• Experience supporting enterprise‑scale platforms or Cloud‑based business systems, ideally within ERP or highly integrated environments.
• Strong understanding of non‑functional testing disciplines, including performance, load, stress, endurance, and capacity testing.
• Experience working with automated testing frameworks and integrating performance testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Working knowledge of programming and scripting languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
• Experience using source control tools such as GitHub or Bitbucket and CI tools such as Jenkins or Azure DevOps.Leadership role: No
