Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced System Manager to join our team in Doha, Qatar. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the operational IT systems and operational excellence of our systems architecture.

You will oversee the design, implementation, operation and maintenance of scalable ITS systems that support and deliver the business objectives of our client in the Traffic Management and Traffic Operations space, ensuring optimal performance and security while fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.

Key responsibilities include:

• Close management of the subcontractors that are in charge of the maintenance and operational availability of the Traffic Control and Monitoring systems.
• Architect and implement advanced systems solutions that align with strategic, organizational goals and customer needs
• Lead cross-functional teams to identify system requirements and improvements, architecture rationalization, establish roadmaps, and execute on high-impact projects.
• Develop and enforce best practices for system design, monitoring, and maintenance, ensuring robust documentation and compliance with industry standards.
• Implement performance tuning and optimization strategies to enhance system efficiency and reliability.
• Drive incident management and response processes to meet contractual SLAs, conducting post-mortems to identify root causes and prevent future occurrences.
• Mentor and guide the team members, fostering a collaborative and continuous learning environment.

Qualifications

Required :

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience preferably in the Transportation systems space with a proven track record in leading the maintenance and enhancement of large-scale IT systems, ideally in the Middle East region
• Expertise with Video Management, Network Management Systems and Advanced Traffic Management Systems.
• Good knowledge in container orchestration tools for Information Systems Architecture
• Strong understanding of networking concepts, security protocols, and system architecture.
• Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams (internal and subcontractors) and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with tools and scripts to improve operational efficiency.
• Familiarity with ITIL or similar frameworks for service management
• Expertise in system monitoring tools and incident response platforms.
• Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, including performance tuning and query optimization.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills with an analytical mindset.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Strong leadership abilities, with a focus on building and nurturing high-performing teams.Preferred:

• Relevant certifications in the IT Management Systems domain
• Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
• A proactive and adaptable approach to managing change in a fast-paced environment.
