General Surgeon | UAE

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Consultant / Specialist General Surgeon to join our leading healthcare facility in the UAE.

The ideal candidate will have broad expertise in general surgery, laparoscopic surgery, minimally invasive procedures, and acute surgical care, with a strong focus on safe surgical practice and excellent patient outcomes.

The successful candidate will work closely with anesthesiologists, gastroenterologists, oncologists, radiologists, emergency physicians, intensivists, and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive surgical consultations and pre-operative assessments.
• Diagnose and manage a wide range of surgical conditions in adult patients.
• Develop individualized surgical treatment plans based on clinical assessment and diagnostic findings.
• Perform elective and emergency general surgical procedures within the approved clinical scope.
• Perform open and laparoscopic surgical procedures as appropriate to clinical expertise.
• Manage patients presenting with acute abdomen, abdominal pain, infections, bleeding, and other surgical emergencies.
• Perform common procedures including hernia repair, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and other general surgical interventions.
• Assess and manage patients with gastrointestinal, abdominal wall, breast, and soft-tissue surgical conditions.
• Review and interpret laboratory investigations, ultrasound, CT, MRI, endoscopy reports, and other diagnostic studies.
• Provide appropriate pre-operative counseling regarding treatment options, surgical risks, benefits, and expected outcomes.
• Perform post-operative assessment and provide appropriate follow-up and continuity of care.
• Recognize and manage post-operative complications and coordinate further intervention when required.
• Participate in emergency surgical call and urgent surgical management where applicable.
• Collaborate with gastroenterologists, oncologists, radiologists, anesthesiologists, intensivists, and other specialists.
• Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and confidential patient records.
• Ensure adherence to infection-control, surgical safety, and patient-safety standards.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits, quality improvement, teaching, and continuing professional development.
• Follow applicable UAE healthcare regulations, professional standards, clinical guidelines, and facility policies.
MBBS, MD, or equivalent recognized medical qualification.

Recognized postgraduate qualification in General Surgery.

Relevant post-specialization clinical experience.

Strong experience in general and emergency surgical practice.

Demonstrated experience in laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery.

Strong clinical assessment and surgical decision-making skills.

Ability to manage elective and emergency surgical cases.

Excellent communication and patient-management skills.

Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
