Flow Assurance Engineer

Wood is currently recruiting for a Flow Assurance Engineer to join our Consulting team. Due to the nature of the projects and client expectation, the position will be based full time at our office in Abu Dhabi.

The key objectives for this role are:

• Ensure the safe, reliable, and uninterrupted flow of hydrocarbons from reservoir to processing facilities throughout the asset life cycle.

• Identify, analyze, and mitigate flow assurance risks such as hydrates, wax, asphaltenes, scale, corrosion, erosion, and slugging.

• Support the design and operation of production systems (pipelines, subsea systems, wells, and facilities) to maintain flow under expected operating conditions.

• Apply steady‑state and transient flow assurance analysis to evaluate operating scenarios, start‑up, shutdown, and upset conditions.

• Contribute to the development of flow assurance strategies, including insulation, heating, chemical injection, pigging, and operational controls.

• Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, company specifications, and regulatory requirements related to flow assurance.

• Provide technical input to project teams during concept selection, FEED, detailed design, and operational support phases.

• Assist in optimizing designs to achieve cost‑effective and operable solutions while maintaining safety and system integrity.

• Prepare and review flow assurance reports, calculations, and technical documentation with clarity and accuracy.

• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams (process, subsea, operations, facilities, and integrity) to support integrated engineering solutions.

• Support operational teams by providing troubleshooting and performance‑improvement recommendations based on flow assurance analysis.

• Continuously develop technical competence and stay aware of industry best practices and emerging flow assurance technologies.
