Enterprise Architect - Data, AI & Platforms

Blackford Technologies are seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to lead the design and oversight of data, AI, and platform solutions. This role requires a unique blend of strategic thinking, technical expertise, and hands-on capability to drive complex technology programs from inception to delivery. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical knowledge with strong pre-sales experience and exceptional client management skills.

Requirements

• Lead the design and architecture of enterprise-scale data platforms, AI solutions, and technology infrastructure
• Provide technical oversight and governance across multiple programs and initiatives, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture principles and best practices
• Support pre-sales activities including solution design, technical proposals, proof of concepts, and client presentations
• Manage technology programs from a technical perspective, from initial requirements gathering through to implementation and delivery
• Engage hands-on with technical implementation when required, including architecture reviews, code reviews, and troubleshooting complex technical challenges
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted technical advisor and ensuring their needs are understood and met
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business stakeholders, delivery teams, and external partners
• Define and evolve technology standards, frameworks, and methodologies for data, AI, and platform initiativesRequired Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as an Enterprise Architect with focus on data platforms, AI/ML solutions, and cloud infrastructure
• Strong pre-sales experience including solution design, proposal development, and client-facing presentations
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex technology programs from start to finish, with accountability for technical delivery
• Hands-on technical capability with the ability to dive deep into technical details when needed, including architecture design, code review, and implementation guidance
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Strong client management skills with experience building trusted advisor relationships and managing stakeholder expectations
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, negotiate, and collaborate effectively across diverse teams and cultures
• Experience working in the Middle East region, particularly the UAE, with understanding of local business culture and practicesTechnical Expertise

• Deep knowledge of data architecture patterns, including data lakes, data warehouses, real-time streaming, and modern data platforms
• Strong understanding of AI/ML architecture, including model development, deployment, MLOps, and responsible AI practices
• Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid/multi-cloud architectures
• Knowledge of enterprise integration patterns, API design, microservices architecture, and event-driven systems
• Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance requirements
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 10+ years of experience in technology roles with at least 5 years in enterprise architecture
• Relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, cloud certifications, data/AI certifications) are highly desirable
