Director - Urban Planning (MAS7)

Qiddiya Investment Company is seeking an accomplished Director of Urban Planning to lead the strategic development and implementation of urban planning initiatives for one of Saudi Arabia's most ambitious projects. This leadership position requires a visionary urban planning professional who can guide the creation of a world-class city that harmonizes innovative design, sustainability, and functionality.

The Director will be responsible for setting the overall urban planning strategy, ensuring alignment with Qiddiya's mission and objectives, and collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams including architecture, infrastructure, environment, and governmental stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee the execution of comprehensive urban planning strategies for Qiddiya, ensuring integration with master plans and regional development goals.
• Lead and manage the urban planning team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external partners to align urban planning efforts with design, infrastructure, and sustainability objectives.
• Ensure urban planning projects comply with local regulations, zoning laws, and environmental standards.
• Provide strategic guidance on land use, transportation, public spaces, and community development to support a vibrant and livable city.
• Engage with government authorities, regulators, and stakeholders to secure approvals and maintain strong relationships.
• Advise senior leadership on emerging trends, risks, and opportunities in urban planning and development.
• Oversee budgets, timelines, and resource allocation for urban planning initiatives.
• Represent Qiddiya at industry forums, conferences, and public engagements to promote the company’s vision.Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in urban planning, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Demonstrated experience managing large-scale urban development projects in complex environments.
• Strong knowledge of planning regulations, zoning, sustainability practices, and infrastructure integration.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and collaborate effectively across departments.
• Familiarity with the Saudi Arabian urban development landscape and government procedures is highly desirable.
