A leading private hospital in the UAE is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Consultant Surgical Oncologist (Western Qualified) to join its multidisciplinary cancer care team. The successful candidate will provide advanced surgical management for patients with solid tumors, working collaboratively with medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, and other specialists to deliver comprehensive, evidence-based oncology care.
Requirements
- Diagnose, evaluate, and surgically manage patients with benign and malignant tumors across various organ systems.
- Perform complex oncological surgeries in accordance with international clinical guidelines and best practices.
- Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary tumor boards.
- Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments and provide post-operative care and long-term follow-up.
- Collaborate with medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, gastroenterologists, plastic surgeons, and other specialists to optimize patient outcomes.
- Perform minimally invasive and advanced oncological surgical procedures where appropriate.
- Manage surgical emergencies related to oncological conditions.
- Counsel patients and their families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, surgical risks, expected outcomes, and recovery.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records in compliance with UAE healthcare regulations.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, morbidity and mortality reviews, and Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection prevention protocols, patient safety standards, and international oncology guidelines.
- Supervise and mentor junior surgeons and medical staff where applicable.
- Contribute to departmental development, research, and educational activities.
