A leading private hospital in the UAE is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Consultant Ophthalmologist (Western Qualified) to join its specialist eye care team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive ophthalmic services, including diagnosis, medical management, and surgical treatment of eye disorders, while delivering exceptional patient care in accordance with international clinical standards.
Requirements
Diagnose, evaluate, and manage a wide range of ophthalmic conditions affecting the anterior and posterior segments of the eye.
Perform comprehensive eye examinations, including visual assessments, ocular imaging, and diagnostic evaluations.
Manage conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, retinal diseases, corneal disorders, diabetic eye disease, and other ophthalmic conditions.
Perform ophthalmic surgical procedures within the scope of expertise, including cataract surgery, laser procedures, and other specialized interventions.
Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and evidence-based clinical guidelines.
Interpret ophthalmic investigations including OCT, visual field testing, retinal imaging, and other diagnostic studies.
Provide pre-operative assessments and post-operative follow-up care.
Collaborate with optometrists, ophthalmic nurses, anesthetists, and other medical specialists to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Counsel patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, surgical procedures, and long-term eye health.
Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with UAE healthcare regulations.
Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, departmental meetings, and Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control standards, patient safety protocols, and international ophthalmology guidelines.
Mentor junior doctors and contribute to clinical education and service development where applicable.
