To inspect Civil and infrastructure work executed by the general contractors and road contractors to assure compliance with contract document, project specifications, industry and local and international standards. To Prepare Inspection and Testing Plans with the assistance of the Senior Architect / Projects Engineer to ensure that all designs are in line with the Corporationâs vision and in accordance with UAE and international standards.
Key Accountabilities
Site Inspections:
- Carry out inspection of works in progress.
- Ensure contractor compliance with contract specifications and approved shop drawings.
- Assist Site Civil/Mechanical Engineer / Electrical Engineer with review of shop drawing and material submittals.
- Monitor and report contractor progress and all activities.
- Responsible for supervising, directing and coordinating the contractorâs inspection team.
- Attend weekly meetings with inspectors and Project Engineer.
- Monitor contractor QA/QC activities and maintain records.
- Ensuring that contractors responses are complete and in compliance with the contract documents. Where problems are found, work with Project Engineer to resolve.
- Audit inspections for conformity to contract documents and contractor submitted plans.
- Prepare NCR and
- Prepare snagging reports and follow up with contractors for de-snagging
- Reviews payment requests, variations, and claims
- Reviews project plans and delay analysis
Qualifications / Requirements
Knowledge:
- Understanding of British, American and International design standards.
- Good knowledge of local building services rules and regulations.
- Good knowledge of Civil/MEP systems for the oil & gas industries and good engineering practices..
- Good knowledge of RTA/SRTA regulations and stations entry and exit wor.
Education:
- Bachelorâs Degree in Civil Engineering.
Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role
- Experience in Oil and Gas distribution industry preferred.
Competencies:
- Excellent communication skills and fluent in English (Arabic is an added value)
- Time management skill
- Strong interpersonal skill
- Must be pro-active, adaptable and a motivated team player.
