We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Child Health Specialist to join our leading healthcare facility in the UAE.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in child health, pediatric medicine, preventive care, childhood illnesses, growth and development, and comprehensive medical management of children, with a commitment to providing safe, family-centered healthcare.
The successful candidate will work closely with pediatric nurses, neonatologists, pediatric surgeons, pediatric subspecialists, nutritionists, psychologists, and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive medical consultations and health assessments for infants, children, and adolescents.
- Diagnose and manage a wide range of common and complex childhood medical conditions.
- Monitor children's physical, developmental, nutritional, and behavioral health.
- Assess growth and development using appropriate age-based parameters and clinical assessments.
- Manage acute childhood illnesses including respiratory infections, fever, gastroenteritis, allergic conditions, and other common pediatric presentations.
- Evaluate and manage children presenting with cough, breathing difficulties, abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, rashes, fever, and other symptoms.
- Provide routine health assessments and preventive healthcare for children.
- Monitor and provide appropriate childhood vaccination and immunization services.
- Provide nutritional guidance and counseling to parents regarding healthy growth and development.
- Identify developmental delays, behavioral concerns, learning difficulties, and other conditions requiring further assessment or specialist intervention.
- Manage common childhood allergies, asthma, eczema, recurrent infections, and other pediatric conditions.
- Assess children with chronic medical conditions and develop individualized long-term management plans.
- Review and interpret laboratory investigations, X-rays, ultrasound, and other diagnostic studies where appropriate.
- Recognize red-flag symptoms and arrange timely referral to pediatric subspecialists or emergency services.
- Provide appropriate pediatric emergency assessment and initial stabilization when required.
- Provide counseling to parents and caregivers regarding diagnosis, treatment options, medication use, nutrition, prevention, and follow-up care.
- Coordinate care with pediatric subspecialists, neonatologists, surgeons, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and confidential pediatric medical records.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits, quality improvement, teaching, and continuing professional development.
- MBBS, MD, or equivalent recognized medical qualification.
- Recognized postgraduate qualification in Pediatrics / Paediatrics, Pediatric Medicine, or an equivalent specialty.
- Relevant post-specialization clinical experience.
- Strong experience in general pediatric and child healthcare.
- Good knowledge of childhood diseases, preventive medicine, and developmental care.
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with children and their parents or caregivers.
- Compassionate and family-centered approach.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary pediatric healthcare team.
Requirements
- •MBBS, MD, or equivalent recognized medical qualification
- •Recognized postgraduate qualification in Pediatrics / Paediatrics, Pediatric Medicine, or equivalent specialty
- •Relevant post-specialization clinical experience
