The Warranty Officer will diligently review and analyse aircraft systems, powerplant, components, cabin maintenance along with Engineering Safety reports to identify maintenance spend that are qualified for claim under the scope of contractual warranty remedies and guarantees, commitment letters, modifications, or insurance.
Administration of the Claims Management function through timely submission claims, review of vendor dispositions, follow-ups against open claims, processing of credit notes and closure of claims.
In This Role you will:
- Review tech logs, light and heavy maintenance packages along with delay and incidents reports to identify aircraft/ engine/ component defects that are qualified for claim under the scope of standard warranty remedies, insurance, guarantees, commitment letters and other contractual provisions. Where applicable, concur with the Warranty Supervisor for the preparation of claims on maintenance activities qualified for insurance or third-party claim, collate costs for the release of Incident Cost Advise.
- Review Engineering Orders and Special Engineering Work cards to identify those that are claimable based on SB industry support, commitment letters and other contractual provisions. Define claimable cost elements industry support end dates along with critical analysis required during claim preparation and submission process. Review applicable defect Notices to maximize the warranty coverage For EO and SEWC that do not have industry support, discuss with Warranty Controller for further review with FTM (Fleet Technical Management)
- On scrap workflows routed to Warranty for approval, review the reason for removal and analyse the nature of defect. As appropriate or applicable, initiate claims or provide information on opportunities for availing warranty remedies, discounted replacement costs or recoveries through the insurance/ 3rd party damage process.
- Identify available guarantees applicable to aircraft components and engines. Conduct periodic reviews of component/system performance and maintenance cost elements and ensure compliance of reporting requirements. Where applicable, submit claims to recover undue maintenance cost or obtain replacement/loan components at no-charge to Emirates.
- As directed by the Warranty Controller, review technical problems highlighted by FTM (Fleet Technical Management), Boeing FTD or Fleet Team Resolution Process (FTRP) or Airbus Technical Follow Ups. Correlate to Emirates own experience and identify records of in-warranty failures and submit claims or defect notice to reserve EK warranty rights against for technical resolutions, terminating fixes and relevant remedies.
- Review and qualify warranty referrals from Repairs team. Initiate claims for cases whose disputes are contractually in nature.
- Oversee the completion of tasks assigned to the Warranty Supervisor and ensure that qualified maintenance activities are claimed within 45days. Generally, support and assist Warranty Controller with the day-to-day activities and addressing queries from external customers.
- Administration of the core function of Claims Management group through timely submission of claims, initial review of vendor dispositions to identify fully accepted claims or those that require review/ decision of Warranty Controller and/or claim initiator, consistent follow-up of open claims and identification of those that require escalation, processing of credit notes and closure of claims.
Qualification
To be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:
- 12 Years schooling or equivalent
- 5+ years experience in Engineering, Purchasing / Planning.
- Industry experience in Supply Chain is preferable (Warehouse and Logistics, Repair management, Material Planning/Support & Inventory Control, Technical Purchasing).
- Aircraft maintenance spares purchasing experience is preferable. Airlines or MRO (Maintenance Repair Organization) work experience.
- Thorough knowledge of inventory systems, models and principles of forecasting, materials management and purchasing.
- Be Familiar with of all corresponding repair, warranty, stores, inventory, technical, production and quality interfaces.
- Be Familiar with aircraft systems including maintenance philosophies, practices, policies and procedures.
