Voyage Manager I

Job Purpose:

Support the safe and cost-efficient ship operation for Bahri Chemicals vessels. Analyze operations and take initiative to improve vessel performance and ensure best practices.

Key Accountabilities:

Voyage Management

• Support the Voyage Management team with the voyage progress and KPIs of assigned vessels to ensure safe and cost-efficient ship operations. Support with voyage orders, vessel scheduling, all vessel documentation.

• Liaise with masters and agents, demurrage claims and process day to day operational duties. Take initiative to improve performance and ensure best practices.

Schedule Management

• Support the timely scheduling and accurate berth information for departure and arrival.

Scheduling and Coordination

• Support chartering personnel, ship managers, vessel management and Port Agents with information from the Voyage Management team as required.

Compliance

• Proactively monitor assigned vessels vetting status. Ensure vessel compliance with voyage orders and charter party obligations. Update system with accurate operational information (port timings cargo nominations, cargo loaded).

Agent and Service Provider Management

• Support in the development of and maintain good customer relations and service providers.

Teamwork

• Effectively support team to meet daily requirements/deadlines through addressing queries, resolving day-to-day work-related issues and providing technical on-the-job training. Advise functional teams or projects on his/her area of specialization and can lead multidisciplinary projects or initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Technical Diploma, Diploma in Transportation/Logistics/Maritime Studies or commercially related shipping subjects., or equivalent.

• Minimum 8 years of experience in chartering or relevant areas such as Commercial Shipping in chemical tankers.
