Overview Of The Role:
• As a Sales Assistant, your primary purpose is to maintain a shoppable store environment, drive sales through effective customer service, and utilize your product knowledge to meet sales targets. Success in this role requires maintaining a clean and organized store, providing excellent customer service, and utilizing selling techniques to enhance customer experience and increase sales. You will operate within well-defined processes and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve individual store budget goals.
What You Will Do:
Customer Service
• Provide high-level customer service both internally and externally.
• Assist and advise customers professionally on product categories.
POS Operation
• Operate the point of sales system as required.
• Ensure high-level accuracy in all transactions.
• Follow procedures for cash operation.
Product Knowledge
• Learn product uses and advantages.
• Advise customers on the right products to enhance revenues.
• Encourage 'add-on' sales to increase transaction size.
Receiving Deliveries
• Assist with receiving and displaying goods as per procedures.
• Ensure products are readily available for customer purchase.
Ticketing & Pricing
• Comply with in-store procedures regarding pricing and ticketing.
• Ensure correct pricing to protect against company losses.
Merchandising Principles
• Apply merchandising principles after training to maintain corporate image.
• Initiate cleaning programs for assigned department to maintain store appearance.
Other Events
• Assist in stock take, new store openings, and product/seasonal launches as needed.
Required Skills To Be Successful:
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Proficiency with point of sales systems.
• Strong product knowledge and selling techniques.
• Ability to work collaboratively within retail environments.
What Qualifies You For The Role:
• Completion of secondary school education.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a retail environment.
• Strong product knowledge and sales techniques.
