Technician - Respiratory

The Respiratory Technician initiates the assembly, testing, and delivery of all Respiratory Care medical equipment, supplies, devices, and consumables. S/he ensures that consumables are ordered and restocked in a timely manner, and along with medical equipment and are made available and placed for efficiency of access for staff and patients.

S/he demonstrates professionalism in the services affecting planning and delivery of patient care at all times.

The Respiratory Technician may possess novice knowledge of pediatric and/or neonatal cardiopulmonary anatomy and physiology. S/he may have novice knowledge and clinical acumen in the use of some medical devices and techniques used in respiratory therapy for the pediatric and/or neonatal population. S/he may demonstrate the knowledge and skills relevant for patient assessment and administration of low-acuity clinical therapeutic care.

The Respiratory Technician is responsible for ensuring that all duties are carried out to the highest possible standard.
