Job Overview
The Technical Sales Manager – Well Services is responsible for driving the commercial growth, technical sales strategy, and market development of Weatherford's Well Services portfolio across the MENA region. This leadership role is accountable for developing and executing the regional go-to-market strategy, identifying new business opportunities, strengthening customer relationships, and increasing market share through effective technical and commercial engagement.
The role serves as the primary technical and commercial interface between customers, Sales, Operations, Product Line Management, and Engineering, ensuring the successful delivery of technical proposals, tenders, contract negotiations, and customer solutions. The Technical Sales Manager also leads the regional Technical Sales and Applications team while driving operational excellence, revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and continuous business improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the regional Well Services commercial strategy and go-to-market plan to drive revenue growth, market share, and customer engagement across the MENA region.
- Lead all technical sales activities, including customer presentations, product demonstrations, technology workshops, technical seminars, and solution-based selling.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, key decision-makers, and strategic stakeholders while identifying new business opportunities and supporting long-term account growth.
- Lead the preparation, technical review, pricing strategy, and submission of quotations, tenders, and commercial proposals using approved Weatherford systems and processes.
- Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Engineering, Product Line Management, and Global teams to ensure successful project execution, contract handover, and customer satisfaction.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, pricing strategies, and customer requirements to develop competitive sales strategies and identify new market opportunities.
- Manage sales opportunities, forecasts, customer visit reports (CVRs), pursuit plans, and pipeline activities using Salesforce (SFDC), Xait-Porter, and other commercial systems.
- Support high-value tenders through business case analysis (BSA), pricing recommendations, risk assessment, and commercial strategy development.
- Monitor financial performance by supporting budgeting, forecasting, revenue growth, profitability, pricing optimization, and cost management initiatives.
- Conduct customer service quality reviews, contract performance reviews, and contract close-out meetings to strengthen customer relationships and improve service delivery.
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop the regional Technical Sales and Applications team, ensuring continuous technical competency development and high performance.
- Promote new technologies, product launches, customer success stories, and best practices while supporting continuous improvement across the Well Services business.
- Ensure compliance with Weatherford's HSE, Quality, Ethics, Compliance, and Corporate Governance standards while promoting a strong safety culture across all activities.Skills:
- Strong technical and commercial knowledge of Well Services products, technologies, and oilfield operations.
- Proven experience developing business strategies, market development plans, and go-to-market initiatives.
- Strong background in technical sales, solution selling, tender management, and contract negotiations.
- Excellent understanding of customer relationship management (CRM), opportunity management, and sales forecasting.
- Experience using Salesforce (SFDC), Xait-Porter, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and people management capabilities.
- Excellent presentation, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical, commercial, and financial acumen with experience in budgeting, pricing, forecasting, and profitability analysis.
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams and build strong customer relationships across multiple countries.
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, customer-focused, and highly competitive environment.
- Strong commitment to HSE, quality, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- 10–12+ years of experience within the Oil & Gas industry, including at least 6 years in Technical Sales, Business Development, or Commercial leadership within the Well Services product line.
- Previous experience supporting or managing Well Services technologies, customer accounts, tenders, and commercial strategies across the MENA region is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical sales teams and driving regional business growth.
- Strong understanding of tendering, contract management, pricing strategy, and commercial negotiations.
- Experience managing business performance, financial results, forecasts, and regional sales KPIs.
- Previous experience working with multinational Oil & Gas service companies is highly preferred.
- Willingness to travel extensively across the MENA region to support customers and business development activities.#LI-MD1
