Sports Medicine Physician / Sports Medicine Specialist | UAE

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Sports Medicine Physician / Sports Medicine Specialist to join our leading healthcare facility in the UAE.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in sports medicine, sports & exercise medicine, musculoskeletal health, sports injuries, injury prevention, rehabilitation, and performance care, with a commitment to helping patients and athletes achieve safe and effective recovery.

The successful candidate will work closely with orthopedic surgeons, physiotherapists, rehabilitation specialists, radiologists, sports trainers, strength and conditioning professionals, and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive sports medicine consultations and musculoskeletal assessments.
• Assess, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic sports injuries and exercise-related conditions.
• Develop individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans based on clinical findings and functional goals.
• Evaluate injuries involving muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints, and bones.
• Manage sports-related knee, shoulder, ankle, hip, elbow, and back conditions.
• Diagnose and manage common sports injuries including sprains, strains, tendon injuries, muscle injuries, and overuse conditions.
• Provide evidence-based non-surgical management for sports and musculoskeletal injuries.
• Perform appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within the physician's training and clinical scope.
• Provide appropriate injection-based treatments where appropriately trained.
• Review and interpret X-rays, MRI, ultrasound, CT scans, and other relevant diagnostic investigations.
• Assess athletes and active individuals for readiness to return to training, exercise, and competitive sport.
• Develop individualized return-to-sport and return-to-activity programs.
• Provide injury prevention strategies and exercise recommendations.
• Coordinate rehabilitation programs with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, strength and conditioning professionals, and other specialists.
• Assess and manage exercise-related pain, overuse injuries, and performance-limiting conditions.
• Provide pre-participation and sports fitness assessments where applicable.
• Support athletes with appropriate recovery, conditioning, and injury prevention strategies.
• Educate patients and athletes regarding treatment options, rehabilitation, recovery timelines, and prevention of recurrent injuries.
• Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and confidential medical records.
• Participate in multidisciplinary sports medicine meetings, clinical audits, quality improvement, and continuing professional development.
• Follow applicable UAE healthcare regulations, professional standards, clinical guidelines, and facility policies.
MBBS, MD, or equivalent recognized medical qualification.

Recognized postgraduate qualification in Sports Medicine, Sports & Exercise Medicine, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Orthopedics, or an appropriate related specialty, as applicable to the role.

Relevant post-specialization clinical experience.

Strong experience in sports medicine and musculoskeletal care.

Good knowledge of sports injury assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and prevention.

Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.

Ability to develop effective rehabilitation and return-to-sport plans.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
