Specialist, Technology (OFS)

JOB PURPOSE:

Support the development, evaluation, deployment, and optimization of drilling and well-related technologies to enhance safety, operational efficiency, reliability, and cost performance across ADNOC Drilling operations, with a focus on technical execution and problem-solving, working closely with operations, engineering, and external partners to ensure technologies deliver practical and measurable value in the field.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Job Specific Accountabilities

• Support the identification, assessment, and selection of drilling and well construction technologies.
• Participate in technology pilots, trials, and proof-of-concept activities in operational environments.
• Assist in the deployment, testing, and optimization of approved technologies across rigs and projects.
• Provide technical support to drilling and operations teams during technology implementation.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and recommend corrective actions to ensure reliable performance.
• Monitor technology performance and collect operational data to assess effectiveness.
• Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving:
• Drilling efficiency and reduction of non-productive time (NPT)
• Safety, reliability, and operational consistency
• Cost optimization and asset utilization
• Support the tracking and reporting of technology benefits and lessons learned.
• Work with internal stakeholders including operations, drilling engineering, HSE, and digital teams.
• Coordinate with OEMs, service companies, and technology vendors during testing and deployment.
• Support technical evaluations, documentation, and vendor performance reviews.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and best practices.
• Share lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support training and knowledge transfer related to deployed technologies.
• Comply with all UAE, ADNOC, ADNOC Drilling and client Asset Integrity Management codes of practice.Generic Accountabilities

Supervision

• Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
• Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.Budgets

• Provide input for preparation of the Department budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver Section objectives.
• Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

• Implement approved Section policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the Section’s work programs in line with Company and International standards.
• Comply with all applicable legislation and legal regulations.Performance Management

• Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Section in line with the Company Performance framework.Innovation and Continuous Improvement

• Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
• Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability

• Support the institution of an HSE culture and ensure compliance with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines across the Division in line with international standards, best practices and Corporate Code of Practices and to ensure integrity and safety of assets.Reports

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation, or related discipline).Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills

• 12 years of relevant experience in drilling, well construction, or upstream technology roles.
• Hands-on experience supporting operational environments preferred.
• Exposure to drilling technologies, digital tools, automation, or advanced analytics is an advantage.
• Proficient in spoken and written English.
• Must be computer literate.
