JOB SUMMARY
The Specialist - Pediatric Anesthesiology, within the Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology, is a physician with clinical training and a specialist qualification in Anesthesiology.
Under supervision of the Attending Physicians, the Specialist - Pediatric Anesthesiology provides family-centered medical care services to medical and surgical patients, to include:
- Parenteral sedation for selected patients undergoing surgical, diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures
- General and regional anesthesia
- Pre-procedural anesthesia assessment
- Team members of code blue and trauma teams
- Assessment and management of acute and chronic pain
- After hours in-hospital and on-call services 24/7 (in conjunction with Attending Physician)
The Specialist - Anesthesiology Pediatrics Anesthesia is a health care professional and patient advocate. Additional involvement in academic and quality improvement projects is encouraged and required. Such activities include but are not restricted to participation in Nursing and Allied Health education, Resident and Fellow training, contribution to ongoing clinical research projects and/or the development of divisional guidelines or involvement in divisional multidisciplinary quality improvement projects. Requirements
- •Physician with clinical training in Anesthesiology
- •Specialist qualification in Anesthesiology
- •Experience in providing family-centered medical care
- •Ability to perform pre-procedural anesthesia assessment
- •Team member for code blue and trauma teams

- •Development of divisional guidelines
- •Involvement in divisional multidisciplinary quality improvement projects
