We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Specialist Medical Oncologist to join a leading healthcare facility. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive medical oncology care, diagnose and manage patients with various types of cancer, develop individualized treatment plans, and work closely with a multidisciplinary oncology team to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with solid tumors and hematological malignancies.
- Develop individualized cancer treatment plans based on diagnosis, staging, clinical condition, and current treatment guidelines.
- Administer and supervise systemic anticancer treatments, including chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, and hormonal therapy where appropriate.
- Monitor patients during treatment and manage treatment-related adverse effects and complications.
- Review and interpret pathology reports, molecular studies, laboratory investigations, and relevant imaging.
- Participate in multidisciplinary tumor board meetings and collaborate with surgeons, radiation oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, and other specialists.
- Provide cancer screening, risk assessment, preventive counseling, and survivorship care where applicable.
- Manage oncological emergencies and coordinate urgent care when required.
- Provide appropriate supportive and palliative care in collaboration with the relevant teams.
- Counsel patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, prognosis, side effects, and follow-up.
- Maintain accurate patient records, treatment plans, and clinical documentation.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, research activities, and Continuing Medical Education (CME).
- Ensure compliance with healthcare authority regulations, hospital policies, infection control standards, and patient safety protocols.
Qualifications & Requirements
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
- MD / DNB / DM / MRCP / FRCP / Arab Board or equivalent recognized postgraduate qualification in Medical Oncology.
- Minimum 3 years of post-specialization experience as a Specialist Medical Oncologist.
- Strong experience in the diagnosis and management of a broad range of cancers.
- Experience in chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and systemic cancer treatment.
- Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
- Ability to provide compassionate, evidence-based, patient-centered oncology care.
