Job Description – Specialist Medical Oncologist
Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
We are seeking a highly qualified Specialist Medical Oncologist to join our multidisciplinary oncology team in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with solid tumors and hematologic malignancies through evidence-based systemic therapies. The role involves providing comprehensive outpatient and inpatient oncology care, participating in multidisciplinary tumor boards, and ensuring compliance with DOH regulations and international clinical standards.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, evaluate, and manage patients with benign and malignant oncological conditions.
- Develop individualized treatment plans utilizing chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, hormonal therapy, and supportive care.
- Manage patients with common malignancies including breast, lung, colorectal, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, gynecological, head and neck, melanoma, sarcoma, and other solid tumors.
- Assess treatment response, monitor toxicities, and modify treatment protocols as clinically indicated.
- Provide inpatient and outpatient oncology consultations and follow-up care.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary care with surgical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, palliative care specialists, pharmacists, and nursing teams.
- Participate in multidisciplinary tumor board meetings and contribute to evidence-based treatment planning.
- Manage oncologic emergencies including febrile neutropenia, spinal cord compression, superior vena cava syndrome, tumor lysis syndrome, and hypercalcemia of malignancy.
- Counsel patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, prognosis, survivorship, and end-of-life care when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records and clinical documentation.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, research, and continuing medical education (CME).
- Supervise junior physicians and contribute to education and mentoring.
- Ensure compliance with DOH regulations, hospital policies, patient safety standards, and international oncology guidelines.
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
- Postgraduate qualification in Medical Oncology (DM, Arab Board, CCT, American Board, Canadian Fellowship, Australian Fellowship, or equivalent recognized qualification).
- Valid DOH License or DOH Eligibility Letter as a Specialist Medical Oncologist, or eligibility to obtain one.
- International board certification is preferred.

Requirements
- •MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution
- •Postgraduate qualification in Medical Oncology (DM, Arab Board, CCT, American Board, Canadian Fellowship, Australian Fellowship, or equivalent)
- •Valid DOH License or DOH Eligibility Letter as a Specialist Medical Oncologist
- •Eligibility to obtain DOH license
- •Experience in diagnosing and treating benign and malignant oncological conditions
