A leading healthcare facility in the United Arab Emirates is seeking an experienced and highly qualified Consultant / Specialist Plastic Surgeon to join its expanding Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery department.
The ideal candidate will hold UK Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Plastic Surgery or an equivalent internationally recognised specialist qualification and will demonstrate strong clinical and surgical expertise, excellent patient-care standards and a commitment to evidence-based practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive consultations, clinical assessments and evaluations of patients requiring plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgical care.
- Diagnose conditions and develop appropriate, evidence-based treatment plans in accordance with established clinical guidelines.
- Perform surgical procedures within the scope of approved clinical privileges, training and demonstrated competency.
- Provide comprehensive pre-operative assessment, counselling and informed consent, including discussion of risks, benefits, alternatives and expected outcomes.
- Provide appropriate post-operative management, follow-up and complication management.
- Maintain accurate, complete and confidential patient medical records in accordance with UAE regulatory and facility requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with anaesthetists, physicians, nurses, allied health professionals and other specialists as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and provide specialist input where required.
- Ensure adherence to infection prevention and control policies, patient-safety standards and clinical protocols.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement programmes, morbidity and mortality reviews and clinical governance activities.
- Maintain professional competence through continuing medical education, training and professional development.
- Contribute to the education, supervision and mentoring of junior medical staff where applicable.
- Support the development and growth of the Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery service
- Primary Medical Degree (MBBS, MBChB or equivalent) from a recognised medical university.
- UK CCT in Plastic Surgery or an equivalent recognised specialist qualification.
- Completion of accredited specialist training in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery.
- Relevant post-specialisation clinical experience appropriate to the proposed UAE classification.
- Current professional registration/licence in the country of practice, where applicable.
- Eligibility for registration/licensing with the relevant UAE health authority.
- Demonstrable experience in a recognised hospital or specialist surgical setting.
- Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD/CME).
