Overview Of The Role:

• The Mechanical Engineer oversees Supervisors and the drafting team, ensuring mechanical activities are executed in alignment with project goals. Operating on one or multiple projects, the role involves managing resources, ensuring quality and safety standards, and liaising with stakeholders to meet project deliverables efficiently.
What You Will Do:

Project Management

• Validate mechanical design and technical calculations.
• Review project scope of works, specifications, and other documents for value engineering and risk areas.
• Liaise with stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are met.
• Manage resources and execute plans, coordinating with Junior Engineers and Supervisors.
• Monitor progress and productivity, taking corrective action for deviations.
• Manage installation and construction, ensuring high workmanship standards.
• Efficiently use plant and equipment and liaise with local authorities as needed.

Cost Management

• Coordinate with QS to capture variation works and notify delays for effective claims.
• Propose value engineering solutions to improve budgeted profit margins.
• Increase overall profit margin by 2%.
• Monitor % of Variation Claims against Project Value and ensure approved claims match expectations.

Engineering

• Coordinate submission and approval of shop drawings with engineers and drafting team.
• Ensure procurement finalization and approvals of suppliers and materials.
• Resolve complex technical problems to complete design and construction satisfactorily.
• Coordinate with other trades to verify equipment loads and notify changes.
• Liaise with authorities on approvals and stay updated with regulations.

Quality / Standards

• Apply internal standards, procedures, and templates consistently.
• Maintain a 'Lessons Learned' register to share technical information and learnings.
• Develop Method Statements for activities according to project specifications.
• Ensure timely project closeout documentations.

Health, Safety & Environment

• Ensure compliance with AFE HSE Policy by all personnel.
• Report and assist in investigations of personal injuries and incidents.
• Support and participate in safety and environmental initiatives.
• Ensure completion of Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) as required.
• Maintain Zero Accidents / Lost Time Injuries (LTI) at site.

Required Skills To Be Successful:

• Proficiency in mechanical engineering design and calculations.
• Strong project management and planning abilities.
• Excellent stakeholder communication and liaison skills.
• Ability to propose and implement value engineering solutions.
What Qualifies You For The Role:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2-5 years of experience in MEP contracting companies, minimum 3 years in UAE.
• Knowledge in mechanical engineering design, project planning, and cost management.
• Familiarity with project management software like AutoCAD, Revit, MS Project, and Primavera.
