Job Summary
Under the direction of the Shop Supervisor, the Service Technician is responsible for the assembly, maintenance, testing, disassembly, and troubleshooting of company assets. The role requires adherence to standard operating procedures while utilizing hand tools and machinery to complete assigned tasks efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform service, repair, and assembly activities in line with standard service procedures.
• Accurately complete and document service reports, checklists, and update relevant business systems.
• Conduct visual inspections of parts following third-party inspections and report findings.
• Operate and maintain equipment effectively to ensure longevity and optimal performance.
• Identify improvement opportunities and actively participate in problem-solving initiatives.
• Support and promote company Safety & Quality standards and procedures.
• Identify hazards and risks in line with company observation programs and Stop Work Authority.
• Assist in troubleshooting equipment and process failures using Root Cause Analysis methodologies.
• Maintain good housekeeping practices within the workshop environment.
• Complete assigned training and competency development programs.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Shop Supervisor.
Qualifications & Experience Essential
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Awareness and understanding of workshop environments.
• Physically fit for workshop-based work.
• Knowledge of operating overhead cranes and breakout machines.
Desirable
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Previous experience in oilfield repair and maintenance shops.
• Advanced knowledge of overhead cranes and breakout machines.
Experience
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a related role (considered an asset).
