Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Geotechnical Engineer experienced in geotechnical engineering design, investigations, and construction support. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering geotechnical solutions across infrastructure, transportation, buildings, and civil engineering projects, including site investigations, foundation design, earthworks, ground improvement, and advanced numerical analysis. The role requires close coordination with multidisciplinary teams while ensuring compliance with project specifications, applicable standards, and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform engineering design and analysis for geotechnical projects with minimal supervision.
- Execute moderate to complex portions of multidisciplinary engineering assignments.
- Collect, interpret, and correlate geotechnical investigation data using established engineering procedures.
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, design drawings, and specifications.
- Develop practical engineering solutions by adapting established methods to project-specific requirements.
- Identify design discrepancies, assess risks, and recommend corrective actions.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
- Deliver work in accordance with project budgets, schedules, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with structural, civil, environmental, and construction teams throughout project delivery.
- Provide technical support during construction, site inspections, and contractor coordination.The successful candidate should demonstrate expertise in:
- Planning and managing geotechnical investigations.
- Assessment and interpretation of geotechnical parameters.
- Development of geotechnical ground models for various design conditions.
- Shallow foundation design.
- Deep foundation design (piles and drilled shafts).
- Earthworks and embankment design.
- Slope stability assessment and design.
- Excavation and temporary lateral support systems.
- Ground improvement techniques and design.
- Liquefaction assessment and mitigation.
- Preparation of geotechnical design reports and recommendations.
- Construction monitoring and geotechnical site support.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science from an accredited university in one of the following disciplines:
- Geotechnical Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Engineering Geology
- Geological Engineering
- Foundation Engineering
- Soil Mechanics
- Rock Mechanics
- Rock Engineering
- Mining Engineering
- Master's degree or PhD in Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng), Professional Engineer (PE), or equivalent professional registration is advantageous.
- Relevant professional registration in Qatar, Bahrain, or the UAE is preferred.Experience
- 8–15 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering.
- Proven experience in both geotechnical design and construction/site supervision.
- Strong understanding of contracts related to site investigations, surveys, and construction works.
- Experience on major infrastructure, transportation, marine, industrial, or building projects is highly desirable.
