A prestigious Government Healthcare Facility in the UAE is seeking an experienced Senior Specialist / Consultant – Stroke Medicine to join its neurology and stroke care team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly qualified physician with expertise in acute stroke management, cerebrovascular disease, and comprehensive stroke care to work within a well-established government healthcare environment.
We are particularly interested in candidates with internationally recognized qualifications, including UK CCT, Western Qualified, American Board, Australian Board, and South African Board credentials.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide specialist/consultant-level assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of patients with acute and chronic cerebrovascular conditions.
• Assess and manage patients presenting with acute ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke.
• Participate in the timely evaluation and management of patients eligible for acute stroke interventions.
• Develop individualized treatment and secondary stroke prevention plans.
• Manage transient ischemic attacks (TIA) and other cerebrovascular disorders.
• Provide post-stroke assessment, rehabilitation planning, and long-term follow-up.
• Interpret and utilize relevant neuroimaging and diagnostic investigations in clinical decision-making.
• Work closely with neurologists, neuroradiologists, emergency physicians, intensivists, rehabilitation specialists, and multidisciplinary stroke teams.
• Participate in stroke rounds, multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits, and quality improvement programs.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of stroke care pathways and evidence-based clinical protocols.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records and clinical documentation.
• Provide teaching, supervision, and mentoring to junior physicians and clinical staff.
• Promote patient safety, clinical governance, and high standards of evidence-based stroke care.
• Stay updated with advances in stroke medicine, neurovascular care, and emerging treatment modalities.
Medical degree such as MBBS, MD, or equivalent from a recognized institution.
Recognized postgraduate qualification in Neurology, Stroke Medicine, Internal Medicine, or a relevant specialty.
Significant post-specialty clinical experience with substantial exposure to stroke medicine.
Strong experience in the assessment and management of acute stroke and cerebrovascular disorders.
Experience in comprehensive stroke care, including acute management and secondary prevention.
Experience working within a multidisciplinary stroke or neurovascular team is highly desirable.
Strong clinical judgment, decision-making, and emergency management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.

Requirements
