Senior Piping Material Engineer

We are currently seeking a Senior Piping Material Engineer, reporting directly to the Head of the Department to join our team based in UAE, Abu Dhabi.

About the mission we offer you:

QUALIFICATIONS:

Specialist engineer degree in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 12 years experience out of which minimum 5 years in a senior position with specialisation in Piping Material activities such as preparation of piping specifications, piping classes, job specification, piping requisitions (MR/SR), bid evaluation, Technical Bid tabulation, MTO co-ordination etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES / PROFILE:

Report operationally to the Lead Piping Engineer with the following responsibilities / profile, as a minimum:

(i) Should be well versed with ASME B 31.3 and other ASME, ASTM, BS, NACE, ISO codes and standards for piping design and materials.

(ii) Should be able to work independently and under pressure, pro-active, co-operating, communicative, analytical, cost conscious and dutiful.

(iii) Should have knowledge and experience in piping MTO concept and exposure to piping material management system. Knowledge of MARIAN will be an added advantage.

(iv) Preparation and checking of Piping classes, specification for Piping bulk and valves, Data sheet for valves and piping speciality items, Material requisition for piping bulk, valves and piping speciality items.

(v) To perform various piping design calculations like pipe wall thickness, branch reinforcement, blind calculation etc. as required for the project.

(vi) To review and understand client specification and implement their requirements to the assigned project.

(vii) Technical bid evaluation, technical discussions with client / vendors and preparing technical bid tabulation.

(viii) To review and implement process and layout requirements for special valves and piping speciality items.

(ix) Provides techno-economical alternative in design / material, if necessary, by ensuring compliance with code requirements and other project specifications.

(x) Co-ordinate with piping lead engineers, design engineers and designers as well as with other disciplines to establish various technical and material related details.

(xi) Coordinating with ADPS administrator, Lead Engineer and GMINI/MARIAN coordinator for providing and updating various database files and RDB files for PDS / PDMS.

(xii) To co-ordinate MTO activities on project or EPC proposal independently.

(xiii) Vendor drawing review in VDB.
