Key Accountabilities:
• Review existing Process Controls related to structural works, propose changes and manage implementation with assistance of respective Department Managers. This also includes Dimension Control.
• Oversee distribution of structural jobs, especially in New Building/ EPC/ Conversion Projects. This includes deciding work centers, manhours allocation and estimated time required
• Contribute towards managing high value CAPEXes associated with Structural Works by means of proposing, technically justifying, calculating ROI and providing to Management/ Departments the necessary dossier.
• Study new technologies related to Shipyard business and present to Management/ Departments for evaluation of implementation.
• Review the DAP and Build methodology and review possibilities for manhour optimization and cost saving through Automation, Process Change, WPS change.
• Support Fabrication Dept for IOC,COQ issues and coordinate on lesson learnt and implementation process.
• Ensure employees are aware and follow the information Security Rules and data security measures in order to protect the company information / intellectual properties.
• Lead the team in the work scope carried out by the Planners/ Team Members for the Central Planning for the Yard Manpower Resource Planning and fabrication space Planning.
• Liaise with Project Planners / Trade Planners / Commercial / Trade managers / Bid Support Team/ Procurment for the Central Planning requirements.
• Develop various historical data in terms of Yard capacities and capabilities, which will be used for various strategic decision making.
• Develop yard central planning cell, taking into account the future and current needs of Overall, Yard resource requirement.
• Provide on the job training to the subordinates and succession plan within the department.
• Keep look out for new technologies related to Shipyard business.
• Flag gaps & propose improvements in the existing Process Control.
• Oversee Production Planning aspects of structural works.
• Follow up on structural CAPEXes both technically as well as from implementation.
Education/ Qualifications & Skills:
• Bachelors in Engineering in any Discipline.
• 15+ years working experience in Shipyard or Offshore/ Oil & Gas Industry with minimum of 3 to 5 years as a Planning Head.
• 15 years’ experience in Structural Works and having proven competency.
• Good knowledge of Primavera (P6), Microsoft Project and Other MS office application.
• Sound knowledge in Project Controls and Yard resource Planning functions.
• Technical Knowledge of Structural Fabrication works.
• Ability to study technical drawings.
Requirements
