ROLE SUMMARY
The Senior Manager – Health & Safety is responsible for setting, governing, and overseeing the Group Health & Safety (H&S) framework, ensuring a consistent, robust, and proactive approach to occupational health and safety across all Operating Companies (OpCos). This is a Group stewardship role, focused on strategy, governance, assurance, capability building, and performance oversight, rather than day-to-day site operations. ROLE PROFILE

• Develop, maintain, and continuously improve the Group H&S strategy, policies, standards, and minimum requirements, aligned with local regulations, ISO 45001, international best practice, and Group risk appetite.
• Establish clear H&S roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities between Group and OpCos, supported by a robust governance and assurance framework.
• Oversee OpCo H&S performance through audits, assessments, independent reviews, KPIs, leading and lagging indicators, dashboards, and consistent reporting.
• Identify systemic H&S risks and trends, support OpCos in addressing high-risk issues and closing findings, and provide senior management and Board-level risk briefings.
• Lead Group processes for critical risk management, incident reporting, investigation, root cause analysis, learning, and systemic corrective actions, providing expert support during serious incidents.
• Drive H&S capability, maturity, and safety culture through leadership engagement, training frameworks, guidance, best-practice sharing, and integration of safety into business decisions.
• Collaborate with Risk, ESG/Sustainability, HR, Legal, Operations, auditors, regulators, and external partners, while contributing to H&S-related ESG and enterprise risk disclosures.
• Promote environmental stewardship at Majid Al Futtaim by aligning work practices with ISO standards and continuously enhancing relevant H&S and environmental management systems for maximum effectiveness.
REQUIREMENTS

• Effective Group H&S governance and accountability are established, with clear roles between Group and OpCos and consistent application of Group policies, standards, and minimum requirements while accommodating local needs.
• Improved visibility and proactive management of H&S risks and performance, supported by reliable data, meaningful KPIs, leading indicators, clear escalation mechanisms, and strong focus on critical risk prevention.
• Effective oversight and learning from serious incidents and near misses, ensuring robust investigations, root cause analysis, systemic corrective actions, and sharing of lessons learned across the Group.
• OpCos are supported, challenged, and enabled through Group expertise, guidance, assurance, and capability building, without duplicating operational responsibilities.
• H&S is embedded in leadership and business decision-making, including risk management, capital planning, ESG reporting, and enterprise risk management, with credible reporting to EXCOM and the Board.
