The Senior Manager – Cyber Security Engineers is a senior delivery and people leadership position within Deeplight consultancy, embedded directly within a major banking client. The role is responsible for directing engineering squads, managing technical resource allocation, and overseeing the execution of enterprise-grade security tools and infrastructure. Serving as a critical link between high-level security architecture and hands-on deployment, this position requires a balance of strong team leadership, robust delivery management, and deep familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks to ensure the bank’s defensive systems are built to the highest institutional standards.

Your responsibilities in this role include:

• Engineering Leadership: Directly manage cross-functional squads of security engineers, providing technical guidance, setting performance targets, and conducting regular career development reviews.
• Delivery Management: Own the technical execution lifecycle for all cybersecurity engineering projects, overseeing sprint planning, milestone tracking, resource capacity, and dependency management.
• Security Implementation: Supervise the deployment, configuration, and integration of core security technologies (e.g., IAM, network security, endpoint protection, and cloud security controls) across the bank's architecture.
• Framework Alignment: Ensure all engineering outputs and system implementations strictly align with the bank’s corporate policies, risk appetite, and selected cybersecurity frameworks.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the primary operational liaison between engineering teams, senior leadership, risk officers, and external client stakeholders to report on project velocity and technical risk blocks.
• Strategic Excellence: Represent Deeplight by modeling senior-level accountability, engineering discipline, and professional delivery standards across all project workstreams.

Requirements

For this role, we need you to have:

• A proven capability to lead, motivate, and upscale highly technical engineering personnel in a high-pressure corporate environment.
• Advanced proficiency in Agile/Scrum or waterfall project management methodologies, utilizing enterprise delivery tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps) to optimize team velocity.
• Practical understanding of applying enterprise security control frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF, ISO/IEC 27001, CIS Benchmarks) to infrastructure deployments.
• Ability to manage capacity planning, resolve resource constraints, and balance technical debt against aggressive business delivery timelines.
• Capacity to synthesize complex technical engineering problems into clear roadmap updates and operational risk summaries for senior leadership.
• A minimum of 8 years in cybersecurity or infrastructure engineering, with at least 3 years in a formal team management or delivery lead role.
• Documented experience leading engineering delivery or managing technical infrastructure within a regulated tier-1 or tier-2 banking institution.
• Prior experience in a client-facing professional services or consultancy capacity, managing delivery timelines, statement of work (SOW) compliance, and client stakeholder relationships.
• Work history demonstrating successful oversight of large-scale cybersecurity product rollouts or complex environment migrations.It would also be great if you have:

• Professional Certifications: Relevant management or technical credentials such as CISSP, CISM, PMP, Agile/Scrum certifications (e.g., CSM, Safe), or cloud security certifications.
• DevSecOps Familiarity: Conceptual or hands-on experience with modern CI/CD security pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) governance.
• Budget Management: Experience tracking operational expenditure (OpEx) and capital expenditure (CapEx) for technical tooling and headcount allocation.Benefits
