Job purpose
Senior Geologist II, Resource Development will oversee multiple resource development programs ensuring alignment with Maaden’s growth strategy and business plans. Report to the Director, Resource Development, design detailed work programs, monitor performance, revise programs as needed, and apply technical standards to ensure safe, productive operations that support resource estimation and development planning.
Key Accountabilities
- Be an active safety leader.
- Design, manage, and coordinate drilling programs for resource development, including near mine exploration, across multiple assets, adhering to safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies.
- Coordinate and supervise drilling activities, including contract management, equipment selection, and resource allocation, to ensure effective and efficient exploration outcomes.
- Collaborate with geologists, engineers, and other stakeholders to design drilling programs that align with project objectives, geological targets, and exploration priorities.
- Ensure the collection, management, and analysis of drilling data in accordance with industry standards and guidelines, focusing on delivering high-quality and reliable data for accurate resource estimation and reporting.
- Interpret drilling results and provide geological insights and recommendations to support resource estimation, optimization, and development planning decisions.
- Monitor drilling progress, evaluate drilling performance, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance drilling efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to confirm work plans are socially and environmentally responsible and Lands management through application of governance standards.
- Ensure collaboration between technical teams, study and supporting cross functional teams, and business partners to solve execution challenges and leverage synergies.
- Update and validate programs in response to new data and economic, social, and environmental conditions.
- Apply and govern the technical standards to confirm safe operations, productivity and drive standard methodology.Minimum Qualification, Experience and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications:
- Professional Degree in Geological Science or related degree Minimum Experience:
- 8+ years of experience in geology within the mining industry.
