External Training Certification, Experience in safety training
Work Experience:4-6 years’ experience in Health and safety or as an HSE trainer in a port environment.
Technical skills required to perform the role:
Training and presentation Skills.
Communication Skills.
Knowledge of Port safety policy & procedures.
1. To train and instruct company employees including contracted employees in health, safety, and environment related training courses and ensure that they meet the standard set out by the Operations Training Department thus enhancing performance level.
2. To receive the weekly / monthly training roster from Lead Safety Trainer and plan the training day based on the attendees list received from the Training Coordinator/Administrator.
3. To Introduce Health, Safety and Environment policy and procedures for new hires during induction thereby understanding the safety and environment conscious culture throughout the organization.
4. To regularly check the condition of all safety related training equipment/items and report any problems, faults or damage before, during or after the duty, to the Lead Safety Trainer to avoid wastage in time, cost or resources. Ensure that the equipment/items are returned to the stores after completion of trainings.
5. To ensure related KPI’s are met and take responsibility in effectively utilizing time and resource to deliver courses.
6. To educate trainees on potential causes of accidents / damages / safety hazards within the operations area from past incidents and ensure that they follow proper safety procedure to avoid such incidents in their near future assignments.
7. To monitor trainee’s performance and conduct regular written / onsite assessments based on completion of each module and update the Lead Safety Trainer on the progress of each trainee.
8. To ensure all related training records and materials are kept and maintained in an effective manner for documentation purposes and forward the same to the Training Coordinator for his further action.
9.To assist Equipment Trainer in conducting safety related courses including generation of training records from time to time.
10. To assist in developing, researching, and reviewing training materials as requested by Lead Safety Trainer and OTC Management.
11. To effectively carry out ad-hoc projects as and when entrusted by OTC Management.
