Job Description:
Responsibilities
• Assist the Rolling Stock Team Leader by performing various levels of
preventive and corrective maintenance activities, as well as minor
modifications on rolling stock. This includes passenger service vehicles,
engineering support vehicles, shunting vehicles, and locomotives.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections, examine parts for surface defects,
replace consumable items, perform minor repairs, and carry out technical
cleaning.
• Perform time sensitive fault diagnostics and component replacement
(repair in site or inside depot) on the rolling stock.
• Execute and fulfill duties as directed by the Rolling Stock Team Leader
and other senior Rolling Stock Maintenance personnel.
• Implement and adhere to the Permit to Work process.
• Ensure the implementation of LOTO procedures is carried out wherever
necessary during maintenance activities.
• Carry out shift and emergency responsibilities as needed.
• Carry out the turning operation of the wheels on the under-floor wheel
lathe.
• Carry out roles essential for managing a safe system of work, which includes
adhering to stringent maintenance schedules.

• Remain cognizant and comply with the requirements that impact your
role concerning health, safety, security, and environmental standards.
• Ensure your own health and safety, as well as that of others who may
be impacted by your actions, including colleagues, customers, and the
communities where we provide services.
• It is imperative to report all incidents and accidents immediately using
the appropriate reporting channels and take action to isolate any hazards
and risks.
Quality and Performance
• Remain cognizant of and comply with the requirements that impact
your role concerning customer satisfaction and service delivery.
• Ensure the integration of quality into all work deliverables, in accordance
with established policies, systems, plans, procedures, and work
instructions, by adhering to the training provided.
Teamwork
• Foster and ensure effective teamwork within one's own department as
well as interdepartmentally, while also building strong rapport with
colleagues.
• Maintain effective communication with co-workers through email, telephone,
or face-to-face interactions.
• Ensure that proper handovers are conducted between team members
at the end of each shift to maintain continuity of service and delivery.
Skills / Experiences
• Over three years of experience in the railway industry.
• A robust mechanical mindset and the capacity to understand the complexities
of rolling stock's inner mechanisms.
• Preference will be given to candidates with experience in operating an
under-floor wheel lathe.
• Possessing strong organizational skills, being detail-oriented, and having
the capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Having prior experience in shunting and operating engineering vehicles
or locomotives can be a significant advantage.
Education
• A diploma in electrical or mechanical engineering discipline, or an
equivalent qualification, is required.
