JOB DESCRIPTION

The Deanship of Research and Graduate Studies at Ajman University invites applications for a full-time research faculty position (Research Assistant/Associate/Professor) in the Artificial Intelligence Research Center (AIRC). The successful candidate will conduct cutting-edge research in AI, contribute to teaching, secure external funding, and actively engage with academic, industry, and community stakeholders to advance the university’s strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

Research & Publications

• Conduct innovative research in Artificial Intelligence, including but not limited to: Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, Robotics, AI Ethics, and Explainable AI.
• Publish in high-impact, Scopus-indexed Q1/Q2 journals and top-tier AI conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, CVPR, ACL).
• Present research findings at national and international conferences and symposia. Teaching & Supervision

• Deliver courses and workshops in AI-related disciplines (e.g., algorithms, data science, AI ethics, intelligent systems).
• Mentor and supervise graduate/undergraduate students in AI research projects, theses, and capstone initiatives. Grants & Funding

• Develop and submit competitive grant proposals to secure external funding from governmental, industrial, and international agencies (e.g., UAE AI initiatives, Horizon Europe, NSF).
• Manage funded projects and ensure alignment with institutional and grant requirements. Service & Engagement

• Organize workshops, seminars, and conferences to promote AI innovation and knowledge exchange.
• Foster collaborations with industry partners (e.g., tech firms, healthcare, smart cities), government entities, and global academic networks.
• Enhance the visibility of Ajman University and the AIRC through public engagement, media outreach, and thought leadership. Required Qualifications & Experience

• A Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a closely related field from a globally recognized institution.
• Strong publication record in high-impact AI journals/conferences, with a demonstrated h-index and citation impact.
• Proven experience in teaching AI-related courses and supervising student research at undergraduate/postgraduate levels.
• Prior success in securing and managing external research grants is highly desirable. Skills & Competencies

• Expertise in programming languages (Python, R, Java) and AI frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras).
• Proficiency in big data tools (Hadoop, Spark), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and AI deployment practices (MLOps).
• Familiarity with ethical AI principles, regulatory standards, and interdisciplinary applications (e.g., healthcare, sustainability).
• Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic is an advantage).
• Leadership abilities to drive collaborative, cross-disciplinary projects. Application Process
