Relationship Officer - Business Account Acquisition

About The Role

As a Relationship Officer within Business Banking Acquisition, you will be responsible for generating new business from the Distribution–Liability segment. You will play a key role in delivering a strong customer experience through timely lead management, high‑quality sales engagement, and strict adherence to compliance and regulatory standards. What You'll Be Doing

• Managing assigned digital and manual leads (DBO and BAIS) end‑to‑end, ensuring customers are contacted within defined timelines.
• Engaging customers professionally and progressing leads through onboarding, documentation, and account opening stages.
• Reviewing applications received through SEQ, coordinating EID verification, application signing, and document checks.
• Submitting complete and accurate applications into internal systems and following through until account opening.
• Communicating with customers to resolve queries and provide updates throughout the onboarding journey.
• Ensuring all customer communication is documented and aligned with agreed processes.
• Meeting turnaround times and ensuring error‑free processing in line with “Mission Zero” standards.
• Cross‑selling Business Banking and non‑Business Banking products where appropriate.
• Maintaining full compliance with KYC, AML, and regulatory requirements at all times.
• Collaborating with internal teams such as Operations, Compliance, and Business Banking support units to ensure smooth processing.
• Taking ownership of assigned leads and delivering a consistently positive customer experience.What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's Degree
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in banking sales, relationship management, or a Relationship Officer role.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage customers professionally.
• Proven ability to manage leads, meet timelines, and work in a target‑driven environment.
• Good understanding of Business Banking or SME products and customer needs.
• Strong customer‑relationship skills with a focus on service quality and retention.
• High attention to detail with the ability to process applications accurately and compliantly.
• Sound awareness of risk management concepts, compliance requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Self‑motivated, disciplined, and able to manage priorities independently while working as part of a team.
