Role : Relationship Manager - Commercial Cards
Location : Dubai
Role Purpose:
Relationship Manager, Commercial Cards is responsible to drive acquisition, portfolio growth, and relationship management of Commercial Card solutions (Corporate, Purchasing, Travel & Expense cards) for corporate clients, ensuring Shariah-compliant structures, superior client experience, and sustainable revenue growth in line with the bank’s Islamic principles.
Key Accountabilities of the role
- Client Acquisition & Relationship Management
- Acquire and manage corporate clients for commercial card solutions.
- Build long-term relationships with CFOs, finance teams, and procurement heads.
- Act as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, ensuring high service standards and retention.
- Product Sales & Portfolio Growth
- Promote Shariah-compliant Commercial Card products including Corporate, Purchase, and Expense Management cards.
- Achieve assigned sales, revenue, and portfolio growth targets.
- Assess client financials, creditworthiness, and card limit requirements in coordination with Credit Risk teams.
- Ensure compliance with Islamic banking principles, internal policies, and UAE Central Bank regulations.
- Monitor portfolio performance, utilization, delinquency, and take proactive corrective actions.
- Client Onboarding & Account Management
- Coordinate onboarding, documentation, and KYC/AML requirements.
- Oversee card issuance, limit enhancements, renewals, and periodic reviews.
- Resolve client queries, service issues, and escalations in a timely manner.
- Work closely with Product, Operations, Compliance, Risk, and IT teams to deliver seamless client solutions.
- Prepare regular MIS reports on sales performance, pipeline, and portfolio health.
Specialist Skills / Technical Knowledge Required for this role:
- 3 – 5 years of experience in Commercial Cards, Transaction Banking, or Corporate/SME Banking
- Prior experience in an Islamic Bank or Shariah-compliant products is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of UAE corporate market and regulatory environment
- Strong relationship management and consultative selling skills
- Knowledge of commercial card solutions and expense management systems
- Financial analysis and credit assessment skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM systems
- Client-centric and results-driven
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborativelyPrevious experience required (if any)
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ industry experience of Commercial Cards, Transaction Banking, or Corporate/SME Banking
- University degree
- Understanding of marketing dynamics including demographic factors, competitor products and services and customer experience
- Knowledge of the UAE Cards market and main competitors
- Ability to identify opportunities, negotiate and analyze post campaign results
