We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Reconstructive Surgery Specialist to join our leading healthcare facility in the UAE.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in reconstructive surgery, tissue restoration, wound management, and complex soft-tissue reconstruction, with a commitment to restoring function, improving quality of life, and achieving optimal surgical outcomes.
The successful candidate will work closely with plastic surgeons, orthopedic surgeons, general surgeons, oncologists, vascular surgeons, maxillofacial surgeons, wound-care specialists, anesthesiologists, physiotherapists, and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct comprehensive consultations and clinical assessments for patients requiring reconstructive surgery.
• Evaluate patients with congenital, traumatic, oncological, post-surgical, and complex soft-tissue defects.
• Develop individualized reconstructive treatment plans based on clinical findings, functional requirements, and patient goals.
• Perform reconstructive surgical procedures within the physician's training, competence, and approved clinical scope.
• Manage complex wounds, tissue loss, scars, contractures, and soft-tissue defects.
• Perform appropriate skin grafting and flap procedures according to clinical expertise.
• Perform local, regional, and free-flap reconstruction where appropriately trained and credentialed.
• Provide reconstruction following trauma, burns, tumor excision, and other tissue-loss conditions.
• Perform breast reconstruction procedures where applicable to clinical expertise.
• Provide reconstructive procedures following oncological surgery and coordinate care with oncology teams.
• Manage post-traumatic deformities and functional tissue defects.
• Evaluate and manage patients requiring hand, upper-limb, or lower-limb soft-tissue reconstruction where within clinical expertise.
• Assess wound healing and coordinate appropriate wound-care strategies.
• Review and interpret relevant imaging, laboratory investigations, pathology reports, and other diagnostic studies.
• Provide pre-operative counseling regarding reconstructive options, surgical risks, expected outcomes, and recovery.
• Provide post-operative care and monitor patients for infection, wound complications, flap or graft failure, and other surgical complications.
• Coordinate rehabilitation with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and other rehabilitation professionals.
• Collaborate with surgeons from multiple specialties for complex multidisciplinary reconstructive cases.
MBBS, MD, or equivalent recognized medical qualification.
Recognized postgraduate qualification in Plastic Surgery, Reconstructive Surgery, or an equivalent surgical specialty.
Relevant post-specialization clinical experience.
Strong experience in reconstructive surgical practice.
Demonstrated experience in complex wound management and soft-tissue reconstruction.
Good knowledge of flap and graft techniques.
Strong surgical assessment and decision-making skills.
Ability to manage complex reconstructive cases as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Excellent communication and patient-management skills.
Requirements

- •Recognized postgraduate qualification in Plastic Surgery, Reconstructive Surgery, or equivalent
- •Relevant post-specialization clinical experience
- •Strong experience in reconstructive surgical practice
- •Demonstrated experience in complex wound management and soft-tissue reconstruction
- •Good knowledge of flap and graft techniques
