About the Role
We are looking for a Putaway Team Leader to lead the putaway team within our fast-growing grocery distribution center.
In this role, you will supervise forklift and reach truck operators and ensure that received goods are moved from the receiving dock to their correct storage locations safely, accurately, and within the required time.
Safety is the first priority of this role, before speed and volume.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all forklift/MHE operators hold valid and current licenses before operating equipment.
- Enforce PPE requirements and warehouse safety standards.
- Conduct daily pre-shift equipment checks and immediately remove unsafe equipment from service.
- Enforce warehouse traffic rules and maintain safe separation between pedestrians and MHE.
- Ensure safe stacking, load stability, height limits, and rack capacity.
- Inspect racking for damage and report any issues immediately.
- Report, investigate, and document incidents and near-misses.
- Stop unsafe practices immediately and provide appropriate coaching or retraining.
- Maintain clean and obstruction-free aisles throughout the shift. Putaway Operations
- Ensure received goods are accurately entered into the system, including item, quantity, batch, expiry, and location.
- Act as the final checkpoint before storage by identifying receiving errors and returning discrepancies to the Receiving team.
- Assign daily putaway tasks and balance workload according to inbound volume.
- Ensure goods move from dock to storage location within the required target time.
- Confirm item, quantity, and storage location accuracy in the WMS.
- Apply storage requirements based on product type, temperature zone, FEFO, weight, and product movement.
- Handle damaged goods and discrepancies according to the approved process.
- Coordinate closely with Receiving and Inventory teams throughout the shift.
- Train new operators and coach the team on safety and productivity.
2β4 years of experience in warehouse operations, including at least 1 year in a team-leading role.
Valid Forklift / Reach Truck license with hands-on operating experience.
Strong knowledge of warehouse safety standards and MHE operations.
Hands-on experience using a WMS, particularly for putaway, locations, and stock movements.
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify item, quantity, batch, or expiry discrepancies.
Ability to work shifts, weekends, and during peak seasons.
Willingness to maintain full-time presence on the warehouse floor.
Basic English and Arabic communication skills.
Requirements

- β’At least 1 year in a team-leading role
- β’Valid Forklift / Reach Truck license with hands-on operating experience
- β’Strong knowledge of warehouse safety standards and MHE operations

- β’Strong attention to detail for identifying discrepancies
- β’Ability to work shifts, weekends, and peak seasons
- β’Basic English and Arabic communication skills
