JOB TITLE: Project Engineer
Role Purpose:
Ensure the implementation of all Hospital Facility projects. This includes supervision, monitoring, organizing and implementation of project activities. Responsible for the Hospital Engineering Equipment maintenance and inventory.
Job Responsibilities: - (Including but not limited to):
- Monitoring project activities related to engineering scope of work.
- Review projects by determining project specifications, design, customer requirements, and performance standards.
- Monitor on-going activities, review the project schedule, and revise the schedule as required.
- In collaboration with the project manager organize and arrange all manpower with appropriate skills necessary to carry out all project activities.
- Monitor project contractors according to the established policies and practices of the Hospital and SFM /AZF Logistics policies.
- Supervise and approve contractor’s completed jobs and other subcontractor’s jobs.
- Communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders. Collaborate with other team leaders and departments. Execute the project according to the project plan.
- Monitor the progress of the project and adjust as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project.
- Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders including appropriate staff within the hospital on the progress of the project, prepare progress reports for senior management.
- Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards.
- Strives to improve efficiency and sustainability of processes and product designs, and to reduce waste.
- Write progress reports on the project for senior management.
- Helps to create and oversee project budgets and engages in cost management strategies. Monitor all budgeted project expenditures.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality.
- Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase. Assure that process meets quality and safety compliance guidelines.
- Responsible of the Hospital Engineering section including buildings, equipment, firefighting equipment, and other services. Responsible for hospital plants, chillers, HVAC systems, civil works, mechanical jobs, electrical jobs, plumbing, carpentry, etc.
- Maintenance records of Inventory engineering equipment in Asset plus database.
- Manage equipment Service Contracts, warranty compliance and department SLA’s.
- In collaboration with project manager, develop policies and procedures for the Hospital engineering section.
- Prepares technical specifications, tender review and evaluation for the purchase of new engineering equipment and projects. Commissioning and installation of newly purchased hospital engineering equipment.
- Liaises with finance to finalize annual budgets. Produce weekly, monthly, and annual reports for Hospital Project Manager.
- Assume or accept any other responsibilities as assigned by the direct supervisor within the position role and responsibility.
Job Specific Skills: -
Bachelor’s degree in electrical, electronics, or biomedical engineering or equivalent. Additional supplementing equipment specific training provided by recognized training organizations including manufacturers or training centers is an added advantage/preferred. Minimum 4 to 6 years of related experience of which a minimum of 2 years should be in a similar position / responsibility, preferably in a similar Industry. Knowledge of equipment procurement processes including specification writing and tender analysis. Previous hospital experience is highly preferable. Proficiency using presentation software to explain complex information to non-technical management personnel and other stakeholders. Experience using computer-aided design (CAD) platforms. Computer skills. Competent in use of electronic test equipment for biomedical service. Ability to work under pressure and handle difficulties and problems. Professionally groomed to project a positive image. Desire to embrace a culture of excellence, collaboration, and communication. High proficiency in English language is mandatory. Arabic will be a definitive advantage.
