Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and decisive Project Director to lead site construction operations in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this pivotal leadership role, you will oversee all aspects of construction project execution, from planning and resource allocation to completion and handover. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, strategic vision, and the ability to manage complex projects while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
- Direct and oversee all site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specification
- Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and resource allocation strategies using advanced project management methodologies
- Manage project budgets, monitor expenditures, and implement cost control measures to optimize financial performance
- Lead, mentor, and supervise construction teams, including subcontractors and site personnel, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence
- Ensure strict compliance with UAE construction standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements
- Conduct regular site inspections and quality assurance reviews to maintain construction standards and identify potential issues
- Analyze project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and make decisive decisions to resolve challenges and maintain project momentum
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, clients, and senior management, providing regular progress reports and updates
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and consultants to ensure design intent is properly executed on site
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including daily reports, permits, contracts, and compliance records
- Implement and monitor safety protocols to create a secure working environment for all personnel
Qualifications
- Minimum 20 years of progressive experience in site construction project management and operations
- Proven track record successfully managing large-scale construction projects valued at $10 million or more
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction methodologies, best practices, and industry standards
- Strong expertise in project scheduling, budgeting, and resource management
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and manage diverse teams in a fast-paced environment
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
- In-depth understanding of UAE construction regulations, building codes, and safety requirements
- Proficiency with project management software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
