Job Summary:
The Chemical Engineer Co-op / Intern will support the Process Engineering team in the preparation, review, and coordination of design deliverables for ongoing oil & gas process system projects. The role provides exposure to real project work within NOV’s engineering design environment, including preparation and development of PFD and P&ID. documentation, and limited procurement and testing activities under the supervision of experienced engineers.
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and collaborate with Senior /Lead process to determine project objective for the process team within the project.
• Receive and understand appropriate process engineering input and work with other inter-discipline engineers and project team.
• Work towards the deliverables provided to the project are technically accurate and within the scope.
• Contribute to the process team in order to create a good working environment and a strong team spirit.
• Be involved in Feasibility Studies / Conceptual Design / Process Studies.
• Assist others process engineers in key design documents (Heat & Material Balance,
• PFD, P&ID, Data Sheets).
• Develop skills in process software such as: Hysys, FlareNet, ProMax, Pipesim, Olga,etc.
• Gain knowledge of the following process work: Line sizing; PSV sizing; blowdown & Equipment Sizing
• Attend Technical Design Reviews (P&ID, HAZOP, client and vendor Meetings).
• Assist project engineering leads and managers in project design and execution according to contract and client needs.
• Write technical reports and scopes of work and Technical Queries.
• Interface with other disciplines, and with vendors, and required parties with process engineering input in support of activities in design of equipment, component and structure of systems.
• Solve problems and discrepancies in work process and request help when needed.
