Job Purpose:
The Business Partner – Corporate Affairs serves as the primary interface between Corporate Affairs and the assigned portfolio, ensuring effective coordination of government engagement, regulatory alignment, and stakeholder management. The role translates business priorities into actionable Corporate Affairs plans that support Maaden growth, regulatory positioning, and alignment with national objectives while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and licensing requirements.
Key Accountabilities:
- Act as the primary interface between Corporate Affairs and the assigned portfolio
- Coordinate all government-related interactions, regulatory engagements, and stakeholder communications.
- Ensure alignment between portfolio strategies and Corporate Affairs objectives.
- Support the positioning of initiatives in line with national priorities, including industrial development, localization, and strategic sector advancement.
- Translate business strategies, project requirements, and operational challenges into structured Corporate Affairs plans.
- Facilitate regulatory pathways, government engagement efforts, and escalation requirements.
- Identify high-risk regulatory, policy, or government-related challenges impacting timelines or project delivery.
- Escalate critical issues and ensure proper tracking, resolution, and closure.
- Support the planning and execution of engagements with ministries, regulators, and national entities.
- Ensure alignment of messaging, briefing materials, and advocacy positioning.
- Engage in portfolio planning sessions and leadership forums.
- Provide structured insights on external dynamics, regulatory sensitivities, and stakeholder expectations.
- Anticipate regulatory approvals, licensing dependencies, and compliance obligations associated with complex or sensitive projects.
- Monitor relevant regulatory developments, licensing frameworks, and compliance requirements
- Ensure clear interpretation and alignment with applicable regulations, technical requirements, and permitting conditions.
- Support early-stage regulatory engagement to define compliance pathways, clarify requirements, and minimize approval risks.
- Provide inputs within highly governed or technically regulated environments.
- Support executives in preparing for high-level government engagements.
- Track commitments, action items, and ensure timely follow-ups.
- Capture lessons learned from engagements and initiatives.
- Recommend enhancements to coordination models, engagement standards, and submission quality.Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Public Policy, or related field Minimum Experience:
- Minimum of 6+ years of relevant experience in Corporate Affairs, Government Relations, Regulatory Affairs, or a related field.
- Proven experience working with senior leadership on complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
- Exposure to highly regulated environments involving licensing, technical compliance frameworks, or nationally governed programs.
- Familiarity with critical minerals, strategic resources, or specialized industrial value chains is preferred.Skills:
- Strong stakeholder management skills across government entities and internal leadership
- In-depth understanding of regulatory frameworks, permitting processes, licensing regimes, and compliance protocols within the Kingdom.
- Ability to interpret and navigate technical regulatory requirements and align business plans with approved compliance pathways.
- Strong judgment and decision-making capability in complex and sensitive matters.
Requirements
