The Officer Business Finance is responsible for monitoring project costs, reviewing budget allocations, maintaining financial records, preparing cash flow forecasts, and supporting financial reporting requirements. The role ensures the accuracy of financial data, compliance with financial processes, and timely delivery of management information to support business decision-making. The position works closely with project teams, business stakeholders, and Finance teams to ensure effective financial monitoring, cost control, and reporting of project and operational activities.
Responsibilities
- Review project budgets and monitor the allocation of costs between central charges, CP&C charges, and project-specific expenditures.
- Support the preparation, monitoring, and maintenance of project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports.
- Prepare and review cash flow forecasts based on payment schedules and project requirements.
- Monitor payment status and delays, providing analysis and explanations when required.
- Review and validate the allocation of central and project-related charges based on approved methodologies and supporting documentation.
- Assist in preparing and posting accruals while maintaining accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
- Update and maintain Estimate to Complete (ETC) information and report variances against approved budgets.
- Prepare periodic financial reports, project performance reports, and management information for stakeholder review.
- Generate ad hoc financial and operational reports to support business requirements and decision-making.
- Support month-end and year-end financial closing activities.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and governance requirements.
- Coordinate with project teams, Finance, and other stakeholders to obtain financial information and resolve reporting discrepancies.
- Comply with organizational Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Identify and report hazards, unsafe conditions, or incidents to the relevant HSE representatives.
- Participate in mandatory HSE training and promote safe work practices within the department.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the manager to support departmental and organizational objectives.Requirements and Skills
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Professional certifications such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent are desirable.Experience
- Minimum 4 years of experience in finance, project accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, or a related field.
- Experience in project cost control, financial analysis, and management reporting is preferred.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.Skills & Competencies
- Ability to prepare, review, and interpret financial reports and project cost information.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, cost monitoring, and cash flow forecasting.
- High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and completeness of financial information.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify financial trends, variances, and issues.
- Effective time management and ability to handle multiple tasks and reporting deadlines.
- Strong collaboration skills with project teams, Finance, and business stakeholders.
- Clear communication skills with the ability to explain financial information and support issue resolution.
Requirements
