The Multi-Property Assistant Social Media Manager is an integral member of the Marketing & Communications team, responsible for supporting the development and execution of social media and digital communications across assigned properties. Working under the leadership of the Director of Marketing & Communications, the role supports the creation of engaging, on-brand content that strengthens the hotels’ online presence, drives awareness, engagement and consideration, and supports commercial objectives across Rooms, Food & Beverage, Spa, Weddings and Events.
The role works closely with hotel operations, Food & Beverage, Sales, Revenue Management, eCommerce and external creative and media partners to ensure consistent, relevant and compelling communication across social media channels.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
Required:
- 2-year degree from an accredited university in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration or related major and 2 years’ experience in marketing, communications, digital marketing, social media or related professional area; hospitality experience preferred.
OR
- 4-year bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration or related major; 2 years’ experience in marketing, communications, digital marketing, social media or related professional area; hospitality experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, content creation and digital marketing trends.
- Experience managing social media accounts for a hospitality, lifestyle, F&B or consumer-facing brand is preferred.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
SOCIAL MEDIA STRATEGY & MANAGEMENT
- Owns and manages the day-to-day social media presence across assigned properties and channels.
- Develops and executes social media strategies aligned with the hotels’ overall marketing, communications and commercial objectives.
- Establishes and maintains long-lead editorial and content calendars across all relevant social media platforms.
- Creates, curates and publishes engaging content across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube and other relevant platforms.
- Develops engaging copy, captions, Stories, Reels and other short-form content tailored to each platform and target audience.
- Ensures social media content reflects the individual identity and positioning of each property while remaining aligned with Marriott brand standards and voice.
- Develops and executes social media campaigns supporting Rooms, Food & Beverage, Spa, Weddings, Events and other hotel initiatives.
- Identifies opportunities to create relevant, timely and engaging content based on hotel activity, guest experiences, trends and seasonal moments.
- Monitors social media trends, platform developments and competitor activity and incorporates relevant opportunities into the social media strategy.
- Continuously evaluates and optimizes content and channel performance to improve reach, engagement and conversion.
COMMUNITY MANAGEMENT & ONLINE REPUTATION
- Manages active and engaged online communities across the hotels’ social media channels.
- Monitors and responds to comments, messages, mentions and online conversations in a timely and brand-appropriate manner.
- Proactively identifies guest feedback, positive mentions and potential issues across social media and escalates where appropriate.
- Leads proactive social listening and supports online reputation management across relevant channels.
- Ensures guest interactions and responses are consistent with hotel communication standards and brand guidelines.
CONTENT PRODUCTION & CREATIVE
- Leads the planning and coordination of photography and video shoots for monthly, seasonal, festive and promotional campaigns.
- Works closely with Operations, Food & Beverage and other departments to identify and develop compelling content opportunities.
- Coordinates with photographers, videographers, designers, creative agencies and other external partners to produce high-quality visual and written content.
- Develops clear creative briefs and ensures content is delivered according to agreed timelines and campaign requirements.
- Maintains an organized library of approved photography, video and other digital assets.
- Identifies opportunities to maximize and repurpose content across multiple platforms and campaigns.
- Ensures all social media and digital content meets brand standards and required approval processes.
INFLUENCER & MEDIA ENGAGEMENT
- Develops and maintains relationships with relevant local influencers, content creators and media contacts.
- Identifies and evaluates influencers and content creators aligned with the hotels’ positioning, target audiences and commercial objectives.
- Coordinates influencer collaborations, hosted experiences, content partnerships and social media activations.
- Manages influencer deliverables and ensures agreed content is received and published as required.
- Tracks influencer and media coverage and reports on relevant social media exposure and results.
- Supports PR and communications activities by identifying opportunities to amplify hotel news, events, activations and announcements through social media.
DIGITAL MARKETING & CAMPAIGN SUPPORT
- Develops and executes social media campaigns that support hotel marketing and revenue-generating initiatives.
- Works closely with Food & Beverage, Sales, Rooms, Spa and Events teams to translate commercial promotions into compelling social media content.
- Leads the social media promotion of F&B activations, seasonal campaigns, weddings, events, spa offerings and room promotions.
- Coordinates with eCommerce and Revenue Management teams to ensure social media communications and promotional messaging are aligned with current offers and business priorities.
- Coordinates with media and advertising agencies on paid social media campaigns and digital activations.
- Monitors paid and organic campaign performance and recommends opportunities for optimization.
- Ensures all advertising and promotional content published through social media channels is accurate, approved and aligned with brand standards.
REPORTING & PERFORMANCE
- Develops and maintains regular social media performance reports across assigned properties.
- Tracks key performance indicators including reach, engagement, audience growth, content performance and campaign results.
- Provides insights and recommendations based on social media performance, audience behavior and emerging trends.
- Communicates key social media results, opportunities and challenges to the Director of Marketing & Communications and relevant stakeholders.
- Uses performance data and insights to continuously refine content and social media strategies.
GENERAL
- Acts as the primary point of contact for social media across assigned properties.
- Partners with the Director of Marketing & Communications to ensure social media activity supports the overall hotel marketing and communications strategy.
- Works collaboratively with property and above-property Marketing, eCommerce and Revenue Management teams.
- Supports the development and execution of integrated hotel marketing and communications activities where required.
- Maintains strong awareness of hospitality, lifestyle, digital marketing and social media trends.
- Performs other marketing and communications duties as assigned by the Director of Marketing & Communications.
