SGS is seeking experienced Mechanical Vendor Inspectors to support inspection activities for a major project in Saudi Arabia. The role involves ensuring compliance with project specifications, international standards, and client requirements across mechanical inspection scopes.
Job Description
- Perform mechanical inspections in accordance with approved Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and project specifications
- Conduct inspections on pressure vessels, piping systems, storage tanks, and static equipment
- Verify compliance with applicable codes and standards such as ASME, API, and Aramco standards
- Witness and review activities including welding, fabrication, NDT, hydrotesting, and installation
- Review and validate WPS, PQR, and welder qualifications
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure adherence to quality and HSE requirements
- Identify non-conformities and support NCR issuance and close-out
- Prepare and maintain detailed inspection reports, logs, and documentation
- Coordinate with client representatives, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth execution of inspection activities
- Ensure compliance with project timelines, quality standards, and reporting requirements
- Strong knowledge of mechanical inspection practices in oil & gas projects
- Experience with Saudi Aramco standards and approvals (preferred)
- Familiarity with EPC projects involving metallic and non-metallic systems
- Hands-on experience in NDT methods (VT, MT, PT, UT, RT)
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of inspection experience (for Engineering Degree holders)
- Minimum 4 years of inspection experience (for Diploma holders)
- Mandatory Certifications:
- AWS CWI or CSWIP 3.1
Requirements

- •Strong knowledge of mechanical inspection practices in oil and gas projects

- •Experience with Saudi Aramco standards and approvals (preferred)
