Role Overview
The Manager – Online Merchandising is responsible for executing the onsite merchandising strategy across App and Web, ensuring an engaging, conversion-driven customer journey. This role focuses on category performance, campaign execution, search optimization, and day-to-day trading operations to drive revenue growth and enhance user experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Onsite Merchandising & Trading
- Execute the onsite merchandising plan across homepage, category pages, brand pages, and landing pages.
- Manage product sorting, filters/facets, recommendations, upsell and cross-sell placements.
- Ensure accurate product categorization and taxonomy alignment.
- Maintain merchandising calendar in line with trade, marketing, and brand priorities.
- Coordinate campaign launches, seasonal activations, and promotional events onsite.
- Performance Monitoring & Optimization
- Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs including traffic, conversion rate, AOV, sales, and engagement.
- Identify underperforming categories and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct regular audits of search functionality, navigation, and user journey.
- Work closely with analytics teams to derive insights and recommend optimization initiatives.
- Track ROI of onsite campaigns and promotional placements.
- Customer Experience & Site Optimization
- Ensure seamless user experience across desktop and mobile platforms.
- Optimize search results, product discoverability, and filtering logic.
- Identify opportunities to improve content placement and product visibility.
- Support A/B testing initiatives for banners, sorting logic, and navigation improvements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Marketing, SEO, CRM, Creative, and Category teams to align trade priorities.
- Coordinate with Product and Tech teams to resolve platform issues and implement enhancements.
- Partner with supply chain and buying teams to manage stock-led merchandising decisions.
- Provide inputs for digital marketing campaigns to ensure onsite consistency.
- Reporting & Governance
- Prepare weekly and monthly performance reports with actionable insights.
- Maintain documentation of merchandising guidelines and best practices.
- Ensure onsite content accuracy, pricing correctness, and promotional compliance.
- Monitor site functionality and escalate technical issues when required.Qualification & Experience
- 4–6 years of experience in e-commerce or online merchandising.
- Strong understanding of onsite trading, customer journey, and conversion optimization.
- Experience working with analytics tools such as Tableau, Google Analytics (GA4) and reporting dashboards.
- Familiarity with CMS platforms and merchandising tools.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actions.
- Excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in fashion, beauty, lifestyle, or multi-brand retail is preferred.Key Competencies
