JOB SUMMARY
The Manager - Business Analysis and Research Planning designs, implements and oversees a return on investment in research program across all research programs in Sidra. Responsible for business analysis and integration across all areas of Research Administration including pre and post-award activity, administrative support staff, laboratory operations, technology transfer and clinical research governance; Responsible for ensuring that processes conform to all applicable laws, guidelines and regulations; Responsible for overseeing new technology to facilitate electronic grants submission and for making the office function efficiently and accountably. The incumbent requires management skills that include an ability to work closely with research scientists to prevent and resolve problems, foster communication between various functional groups and identify opportunities to reduce administrative overhead and duplicative or unnecessary processes.
KEY ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
⢠Initiates and develops a functional, technical and financial electronic research administration plan.
⢠Initiates, leads, and oversees staff development of educational training programs and enabling tools for administrators and scientists.
⢠Initiates and develops a plan to analyze the return on investment of research in Sidra.
⢠Initiates and develops a plan to increase efficiency and quality assurance mechanisms.
⢠Initiates, leads, and oversees staff development of educational training programs and enabling tools for administrators and scientists.
⢠Oversees specialized planning functions such as new research proposals and clinical studies.
⢠Tracks and reports on study data metrics.
⢠Leads, directs and supervises the selection, implementation and rollout of an electronic research administration system for grants and contracts, conflicts of interest, human and animal subject review and other administrative IT systems.
⢠Oversees regular meetings of senior administrators directed toward resolving and preventing conflicts.
⢠Directs, counsels, and supervises staff. Responsible for various reports describing intra- and extra-mural funding activities, office metrics and accountability program. Mediates and resolves problematic sponsored research-related issues at all levels.
⢠Provides daily supervision of research personnel and support staff. Performs personnel activities including recruitment, assigning work, and training, administering performance appraisals and providing discipline.
⢠Initiates and develops a functional, technical and financial electronic research administration plan.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS ā SELECTION CRITERIA
ESSENTIALPREFERRED
EducationMasterās degree in Public Health/Healthcare Management or equivalentPhD with industry/academic research experience highly preferred
Experience5+ years of management experience or 10 + years of professional experience in a senior role.
Experience in research or Healthcare administration with increasing responsibility.
Experience in clinical research a plus
Experience in trial design and implementation a plus
Job Specific Skills and AbilitiesProficiency with data analysis, metric reporting and white paper preparation
Significant experience in the development and continuous improvement of analysis teams, methodologies, processes and practices.
Experience of business analysis tools and techniques that also support: resource forecasting, operational design, risk identification and process mapping
Possess strong experience in implementing high quality assurance, performance measurement and reporting processes
Exquisite communication skills required
Empathy for scientists and a relentless drive to streamline administrative overhead
Leadership qualities and experience as an administrator
Excellent written, oral, interpersonal communication, documentation skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
Fluency in written and spoken English
Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
Degree in Public Health or Healthcare Management is desired.
Have a business analysis or design background with experience in business and software development
Experience with research protocols, development, regulations
