Key Accountabilities
1. Lead all mine survey activities, ensuring survey networks, RTK bases, UAV platforms, and equipment are operational and maintained within approved budgets.
2. Deliver accurate and timely pit markāups to support drilling, charging, blasting, excavation, and dump development in accordance with SOW technical specifications.
3. Conduct asābuilt surveys to validate contractor progress, volume movements, bench compliance, and pit advancement.
4. Produce and update highāaccuracy topographic surfaces (DTMs) for production reporting, reconciliation, forecasting, and planning.
5. Manage QA/QC of all survey data, ensuring reliability, repeatability, proper calibration, and auditāready datasets.
6. Collaborate with Mine Engineering and Geology teams to support ore control boundaries, grade control, dig lines, and stockpile measurements.
7. Lead UAV (drone) survey programs, including photogrammetric mapping for pit compliance, dump geometry, and surface change analysis.
8. Provide technical leadership, task assignment, and competency development for surveyors and technicians.
9. Maintain strict adherence to safety procedures, especially when operating near pit edges, equipment zones, or blast areas.
10. Support SOWādriven reporting cycles and contractor performance evaluations with accurate spatial data.
Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelorās Degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Mining Engineering, or related field; professional surveying accreditation preferred.
Minimum Experience: 10+ yearsā experience in openāpit mine surveying, including supervisory roles, UAV operations, and advanced survey systems.

Skills: GPS/RTK surveying, Total Station, UAV/photogrammetry, mine design markāup, reconciliation, QA/QC, Surpac/Vulcan/MineSight proficiency.
Requirements
- ā¢Bachelorās Degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Mining Engineering, or related field
- ā¢10+ yearsā experience in open-pit mine surveying
- ā¢Supervisory experience required
- ā¢Experience with UAV operations
- ā¢Experience with advanced survey systems
- ā¢Proficiency in GPS/RTK surveying
- ā¢Proficiency in Total Station
- ā¢Proficiency in mine design mark-up, reconciliation, QA/QC
Nice to Have
- ā¢Professional surveying accreditation preferred
