Kitchen Steward at InterContinental Residences Dubai Business Bay

InterContinental Residences Dubai Business Bay is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Kitchen Steward to join our Food & Beverage team. This role plays a vital part in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and operational support across all kitchen and stewarding areas, in line with InterContinental brand values and Forbes luxury standards.

Located in the heart of Dubai’s Business Bay, the property features 176 luxury serviced residences. As a Kitchen Steward, your commitment to cleanliness, organization, and teamwork will directly support smooth kitchen operations and contribute to exceptional guest experiences.

Your Day-to-Day

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

Cleaning & Sanitation

• Wash and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, crockery, cutlery, and glassware
• Ensure all kitchen and stewarding areas are cleaned and maintained according to hygiene standards
• Follow HACCP procedures and hotel sanitation policies at all times
• Handle waste disposal and recycling in accordance with hotel guidelines

Kitchen & Operational Support

• Assist chefs and kitchen team with basic cleaning and equipment handling
• Support in the setup and breakdown of kitchen and banquet operations
• Ensure proper storage and organization of equipment and supplies
• Maintain cleanliness of back-of-house areas including storage rooms and service corridors

Equipment & Inventory Control

• Ensure all stewarding equipment (dishwashers, sinks, racks) is clean and functioning
• Report any maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions to the Stewarding Supervisor
• Assist with stock control of cleaning supplies and stewarding materials

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Adhere to all health and safety regulations
• Follow proper chemical handling and storage procedures
• Maintain personal hygiene and grooming standards in line with hotel policies
• Ensure compliance with hotel safety standards and emergency procedures

Team Collaboration

• Work closely with kitchen and service teams to ensure smooth operations
• Follow instructions from the Stewarding Supervisor and support daily operational requirements
• Participate in training sessions and departmental briefings

What We Need from You

Qualifications & Experience

• Previous experience in stewarding or kitchen cleaning in a hotel or restaurant preferred
• Experience in luxury hospitality is an advantage
• Basic understanding of hygiene and sanitation standards

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of dishwashing equipment and cleaning procedures
• Familiarity with HACCP standards
• Ability to handle cleaning chemicals safely
• Basic understanding of kitchen operations

Education

• High school certificate or equivalent preferred
• Food Safety or Hygiene certification is an advantage
