The Junior Sous Chef manages daily kitchen operations at Le Petit Belge in Crowne Plaza Muscat OCEC. This role ensures high-quality food preparation, consistency in Belgian-inspired cuisine, and adherence to hygiene and safety standards. The Junior Sous Chef plays a key role in supervising kitchen staff, maintaining efficiency, and contributing to menu execution.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:

• Assist the Sous Chef and Head Chef in daily kitchen operations and service flow
• Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff during shifts
• Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented according to restaurant standards
• Maintain consistency in taste, portioning, and presentation
• Support in training and mentoring junior kitchen team members
• Monitor food stock levels and assist with inventory management and ordering
• Ensure proper storage and handling of all food items in compliance with food safety standards
• Enforce hygiene, sanitation, and safety regulations in the kitchen
• Handle the menu development, specials, seasonal offerings and food costingWHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

• Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts or related field
• 2–4 years of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably luxury hotel bar/pub
• Knowledge of Belgian or European cuisine is an advantage
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent organizational and time management skills

Requirements
